The hiring process at Corning's consists of several stages, including a phone screening and in-person interviews. The entire process takes between three to six weeks, depending on the position, with management positions requiring more interviews.
To begin, you will need to create a profile in Corning's career center. Here you will complete your online application, which takes up to 45 minutes. Once completed, you will immediately receive an acknowledgment that your application has been submitted.
Next, there is a screening process. Prior to the hiring manager seeing your application, it is reviewed by our Recruiting Experts. If you meet the minimum qualifications, a member of the recruiting staff will contact you to determine if your education and experience align with the position requirements.
The team shares qualified candidates with the hiring manager, and, if they are interested, phone interviews are scheduled. Once the hiring manager has completed all phone interviews, a decision will be made as to who will be invited to interview in person.
Interviews are conducted after all phone screens have been completed. You may be invited to an individual or panel interview. Corning conducts behavior-based interviews, so be prepared to discuss how your past experiences have shaped your qualifications for the position.
Interview questions will be tailored to the job that you're applying to. For example, for a user design position, you may be asked about your experiences designing for CMS interfaces. For an engineer position, you may be asked what an autoencoder is, or how to work with models with few data points.
