What is the hiring process at Discount Tire?

After filling out an application, you are contacted to schedule an in-person interview with a Discount Tire manager. This covers your general experience and also contains behavioral and scenario-based questions.

The scenario-based questions center around hypothetical customer interactions.

Here are some questions to expect in your Discount Tire interview:

• Do you have extensive knowledge of cars and car products?

• Do you have retail experience?

• What skills do you possess that you value most?

If applying for a job in one of their mechanic shops, your interview contains more mechanical and technical questions about your experience and knowledge of working on cars. You may also be asked to perform the duties of the job in front of management so they can assess your skill level.

These types of tests can include activities such as changing a car's tire or performing an oil change on a vehicle.

Managerial roles have questions surrounding your leadership capabilities and experience during their interviews.

Once management approves of you, they have you fill out information online to set you up in their system. You are then sent out for your drug test.

Discount Tire also performs a background check during the pre-employment period.
