What is the hiring process at the Air National Guard?

The hiring process for the Air National Guard is the same process as joining the United States military and starts by making contact with an Air National Guard recruiter.

Applicants will need to have a high school diploma (although a GED may be allowed in some circumstances). Applicants will also need to pass a physical and take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test. This test is used to determine career paths for consideration.

After joining the Air National Guard, you will go through Basic Military Training (BMT). This is a 6-week course that teaches you the basics of military life and customs, drill and ceremony, as well as physical and mental challenges to build your confidence and stamina.
