Who owns Lenovo?

Lenovo is a technology company specializing in designing, manufacturing, and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, and software and business solutions. Products manufactured by the company include desktop and laptop computers, smartphones, and smart televisions.

The company was founded in Beijing in November 1984 by Danny Lui and a team of engineers. Initially specializing in televisions, the company migrated towards manufacturing and marketing computers. Lenovo grew to become a market leader and raised $30 million in an initial public offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Since the 1990s, Lenovo has diversified its portfolio and made several corporate acquisitions, including IBM's computer business and its x86-based server business.

Lenovo has operations in over 60 countries and sells its products in 180 countries. The main headquarters was located in Hong Kong, while the global headquarters is located in Beijing, China. They also have an operational headquarters in Morrisville, North Carolina.

Lenovo markets the ThinkPad, IdeaPad, and Yoga lines of laptops as well as the IdeaCentre and ThinkCentre lines of desktops. In 2013, they controlled more than 40% of the market for Windows computers priced above $900 in the United States.

In 2022, Lenovo's annual revenue was $71.618 billion, with approximately 75,000 employees.
