Responsibilities
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across a designated region. This is a role that balances on-the-ground execution with guidance from the Field Support Operational Excellence team. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with significant field experience, capable of coaching, influencing, and developing a team to achieve key business outcomes.
What you'll do:
Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of Operations Managers and Operations Specialists, ensuring their successful execution of initiatives.
Field Partnership: Serve as the primary operational excellence partner for Area Business Managers (ABMs) and field leadership within your assigned regions.
Performance Management: Review regional market performance and use data to identify opportunities for improvement. Act as a guide for your team, directing their focus to areas that will drive the most significant impact.
Innovation & Collaboration: Act as the conduit between the field and the FS Operational Excellence team. Elevate local innovations for company-wide consideration and leverage the expertise of the FS SMEs for technical guidance and support.
Training & Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding and training process for all new Branch Managers and ABMs, with a focus on core operational procedures, habits, and leadership development.
Strategic Initiatives: Manage a portfolio of operational projects within your regions and lead the successful cutover and integration of newly acquired branches in their first 12 months.
The success of this role will be measured by its impact on the business, including:

Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Area Business Manager / Field Operations leader directly responsible for branch leadership and area operations
Must have a proven track record of success in a field leadership role, such as an Area Business Manager (ABM).
Strong leadership and team management skills with a passion for coaching and developing talent.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Work Environment
This role is expected to provide support during key operational hours, with weekend availability. Most job duties are conducted indoors, although occasional merchandise stocking, customer carry-outs, and bank deposits will require that a partner leave the Pet Care Center briefly. Because this position requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise (up to 50 pounds, as necessary) and standing for long periods of time, there may be risk of injury resulting from failure to follow safety precautions and procedures. A limited amount of travel will be required.
Contacts
This position has continuous contact with the public at the Pet Care Center and at Pet Care Center -related events, and regular contact and exchange of information with other departments in the field, Distribution Centers, and at the Support Centers. Contact outside of PETCO may be required to coordinate merchandise returns, ordering parts, Pet Care Center repairs, coordination of vaccination clinics, Pet Care Center events, vendor meetings, etc.
