POSITION SUMMARY:

Scope of Position
The scope of the Restaurant Server position is to provide the dining guest with a memorable experience. They play a critical role in establishing a personal connection with the dining guest and the restaurant. They are responsible for properly greeting their guest, and accurately preparing their meal order, submitting the order accurately to the kitchen, flawlessly delivering all stages of the meal, following-up on the guest's comfort level with the preparation of the meal and seeking ways to anticipate and elevate their dining experience. They are the primary contact with the guest during their visit and ultimately close the experience by accurately preparing the final invoice and processing the payment by following the established procedures.
Hourly Staff Schedule Requirements
All staff are kindly asked to understand that the property operation is 24 hours a day 7 days a week, inclusive of all holidays. While the company will make every attempt to create a work and life balance, all hourly paid team members may be asked to work extended shifts and additional days based on business demands. The busiest of days during the season (Memorial Day through Columbus Day) are the weekend days from Friday through Sunday and on holiday weekends that are celebrated on Mondays, this can include Mondays. All staff must be aware and able to work all weekends; requesting time off for a holiday weekend may not and will likely not be granted. The more flexible you are the more you can learn, grow, earn.

Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa is seeking a skilled and professional Restaurant Server to provide exceptional dining experiences for our guests in Gigi's Restaurant. This role requires a strong background in fine dining, with a passion for delivering outstanding service and a comprehensive knowledge of wine to enhance our guests' culinary experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide attentive and personalized service to guests, ensuring a memorable fine dining experience.
Present menus, answer questions, and make informed recommendations based on guests' preferences.
Accurately take food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.
Serve food and beverages in an elegant and timely manner, following fine dining standards.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of wine, including pairings, varietals, and vintages, to assist guests with wine selections.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
Ensure table settings are immaculate and maintain cleanliness throughout the dining area.
Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff.
Process payments promptly and accurately using the restaurant's point-of-sale system.
Uphold Gurney's standards of professionalism, appearance, and conduct at all times.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a server in a fine dining establishment.
Wine Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in wine, with the ability to recommend pairings and answer guests' questions confidently.
Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to providing excellent guest experiences.
Detail-Oriented: Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Professionalism: Dependable, polished, and adaptable, with the ability to handle challenging situations gracefully.
Availability: Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business needs.
Physical Requirements:
