Your Role
As a Mental Health Advisor, you will provide clinical supervision, staff support, and consumer intervention while helping to maintain program quality and compliance. You will serve as a key member of the Adult Services team, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and positive outcomes.
What You'll Do:
Supervise, train, evaluate, and manage assigned Adult Services staff, including assisting with personnel processes such as hiring, interviewing, and performance management.
Provide clinical supervision and support for staff cases, including reviewing documentation such as SARJs, RPOCs, and Crisis Plans.
Assist staff in crisis interventions and home visits, providing clinical feedback and support to consumers as needed.
Support staff with community resource recommendations, professional development, and training on mental health needs. Serve as a liaison for the organization and programs with stakeholders, including Milwaukee County.
Complete and submit required documentation by deadlines. Maintain effective communication, collaboration, and cooperation with all stakeholders.
Follow all duties as a mandated reporter. Attend meetings and professional development activities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with mental health and/or substance use.

The CaseManager I for La Jornada is responsible for the completion and submission of timely assessments and service plans, ensuring document uploads into ORR's UC Portal and maintaining required comprehensive case files compliant with ORR Policy and NYAP's CQI Team. CaseManager I is required to maintain a flexible, organized and efficient work schedule and is subject to work extended hours, weekends, and be on-call.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The CaseManager I will perform duties including, but not limited to:
Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program's Mission, Values and Philosophies.
Ensure casemanagement assessments are completed within ORR's allotted timeframes.
Conduct on-site admission and initial intake interviews of youth to include gathering familial, possible sponsorship information and to establish age of the youth.
Conduct interviews of sponsors/family members, friends of family to vet sponsor's ability to care for the minor(s).
Act as UC case POC for assigned Federal Field Specialist, Case Coordinator and Contract Field Specialist.
Prepare case for, conduct and lead pre staffing process with multidisciplinary team of professionals including casemanagers, clinical counselors, medical coordinators and other designated stakeholders.
Attend staffing(s) with Case Coordinators, Federal Field Specialists and other ORR stakeholders as needed.
Coordinate with local pro bono attorneys for the timely provision of “Know Your Rights” presentations and legal screenings to children in care.
Work with program administration, clinical, medical and educational staff in identifying best casemanagement practices while maintaining a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment.
Work to ensure children in care are provided a safe environment and safe and timely release from ORR care pursuant to ORR MAP Section 2; this may include completing online address searches, obtaining birth certificates to prove relationship, income verifications, background checks, and other actions to ensure proper vetting of the Sponsor, household members and adult caregivers.
Document all actions taken and contacts with youth, sponsor, and stakeholders in the form of progress notes as required by NYAP.
Complete and submit reunification packets and Release Requests for initial review to Lead CaseManager or Program designee.
Submit completed reunification packet with appropriate referral made by CaseManager for the timely release of youth to designated sponsor, including referrals for home studies and post release services (PRS).
Provide weekly face to face updates to youth and telephonic updates to family members/sponsor.
Ensure the provision of two weekly telephonic contacts with family in the US or COO, primary caregiver and/or sponsor.
Facilitate incoming calls to minors with the appropriate family members and other approved caregivers.
Facilitate attorney to client contact as requested by youth.
Coordinate weekly treatment team meetings with representatives from all departments at the Program.
Establish and maintain a strong relationship with assigned foster parents, attend meetings with foster parents and act as program liaison with foster caregivers.
Drive children to facilitate program services, may include transportation to court appointments, attorney visits, other appointments as needed per contractual duties; this may also include transporting youth within the United States for reunification purposes.
Coordinate casemanagement and family reunification services for children, including active involvement in discharge planning.
Actively participate in documenting safety plans and Post 18 age out plans.
Oversee and/ or actively participate in the process of reporting significant incidents (SIRs) in accordance with existing policies and procedures.
Ensure maintenance of UC electronic and physical files, including uploading documents in UC Portal, Evolve, and maintaining the corresponding physical file.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling or other social service field. One (1) year experience preferred working with children and adolescents or in the youth services field. (volunteer and internship experienced included).
Excellent casemanagement, verbal and written communication skills. Critical assessment and analysis skills. Motivated, organized, flexible and able to navigate multiple service priorities. Ability to work under stress and multitasking.
Must demonstrate a sincere commitment to service and advocacy for youth and families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Classroom Teacher will be directly responsible to the building principal for all matters pertaining to the operation of the school plan, in-building administrative and personnel procedures, and general or district-wide policies. He/she will be indirectly responsible to the Director of Secondary Education for all matters pertaining to curriculum, instructional methods, assessment and materials.
Responsibilities:
* Provide orientation to incoming students;
* Assist the building administrator in organizing staffing and implementing August registration for students;
* Review documents for registration and placement purposes;
* Evaluate student transcripts in order to create schedules and individual learning plans;
* Administer and score reading and writing assessments to determine student progress;
* Record grades on student transcripts and maintain student cumulative files and other records;
* Participate in student in-take process;
* Assist the building administrator and other personnel in evaluating student placement for the next school year;
* Establish a helping relationship with each counselee and provide individual counseling to students;
* Work with parents/guardians of students individually or in a small groups to help them: (a) understand the school; (b) cooperate with efforts to help the student; (c) understand the students school program, behavior issues, abilities and goals; (d) provide information that may be of use to the school to help the student; (e) assist in the solution of problems that the student is experiencing;
* Work with teachers and other school employees to help them understand and support students who are experiencing educational and emotional issues;
* Work with special service personnel regarding referrals of students, participate in staffing regarding student needs and provide other general assistance to special service personnel as directed by the site supervisor;
* Assist with contacts to agencies, organizations and others in the community to ensure that local resources are utilized;
* Initiate student/parent/guardian referrals to community resources as needed;
* Participate in formal and informal public relations activities in order to promote acceptance of guidance as a reliable and valuable student service;
* Contribute to the solution of student issues such as truancy, failures, and disinterest in school, discipline issues, assorted conflicts and dropouts. The counselor is expected to seek out such students and provide appropriate guidance and counseling services;
* Participate in various group/guidance programs in order to provide students with information and insight pertaining to testing programs, job opportunities, school policies, regulations, procedures, programs, etc.;
* Assist in the organization and administration of state, district and school testing programs for students, but shall not serve as the building test coordinator;
* Make every reasonable effort to become more knowledgeable and competent by participating in in-service programs, maintain membership in professional organizations, reading professional literature, taking additional graduate work and attending appropriate professional conferences;
* Participate in the evaluation and revision of the school guidance program and plan the guidance program calendar;
* Fulfill professional responsibilities; (a) maintain confidentiality; (b) maintain records consistent with ethical and legal guidelines; (c) participate on the school-based crisis team; (d) perform responsibilities in an organized, accurate, timely and dependable manner; (e) operate within the established district and school procedures and policies; (f) provide support for other school and district programs and personnel; (g) utilizes computers effectively in the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities;
* Perform such other guidance-related duties as may be assigned by the Associate Superintendent of Teaching, Learning and Professional Practices and/or the Guidance Academic Chair.
* Perform such other professional duties as may be assigned by the building principal.
Qualifications: Must have valid Illinois Professional Educators License. Teaching experience (including student teaching and internship) at identified grade level within the last five years preferred.
Endorsements: School Counselor, Grade 9-12.
Compensation: Per Teacher Contract.

Position starts at Part Time with the opportunity to move to full-time as the caseload increases.
Requirements:
Applicants must have and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver's license, a reliable, safe vehicle, and auto insurance at agencies required limits (Bodily Injury of $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident; Property Damage of $100,000; Uninsured Motorist:$100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident; Underinsured motorist: $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident.) 1-2 years of experience required.
Job Duties Include:
Organizes, structures, schedules, and manages a caseload that includes responding to crisis situations helping to de-escalate clients while assisting families to learn the same; responding to the client's home, school, group home and community in person and by phone. Does up to two hours of prevention time per week, per client, working on skill development and strategies to reduce crisis situations; documents all contacts and activities, on a daily basis completes all required documentation and turns in paperwork weekly; attends team, Plan of Care, staff and other meetings as necessary as well as attending monthly clinical supervision meetings.*
Engages with clients, their families, and child and family teams to effectively develop rapport/relationships and trust to meet the individualized goals and needs of the clients and their families. *
Connects and engages clients and families with sustainable, community resources and informal supports so that clients can continue to meet their goals and needs, once system partners are removed. *
Implements services and maintains communication with client, collaterals, and other members of the team in a welcoming, person-centered, recovery-oriented, culturally intelligent, trauma informed way. *
Maintains and submits accurate and timely records according to agency and contract standards, to meet daily, weekly deadlines. *
Advocates for/with the client/caregiver regarding the client's mental health treatment needs, to promote successful outcomes. *
Uses training received and follows all policies and procedures of the agency, contracted agencies and the IRSS department. *
Reads and responds to APC work email daily or AT LEAST every 48 hours. Returns all phone calls, to the person that called, in an expeditious manner. *
Continually improves skills and knowledge regarding trends and developments in the field, understanding resources in community mental health and the ability to embrace continuous change and quality improvements within the position. Keeps an open mind and remains flexible and accepts the suggestions/recommendations/reviews/evaluations of Director, Supervisors, Leads, Clinical Supervisor, Care Coordinators and other team members. *
Assesses and problem solves challenging situations while exercising and demonstrating good discretion for the welfare and safety of all parties. *
Incorporates ethical standards by adhering to a high level of HIPAA compliance, confidentiality, professionalism and by setting and enforcing boundaries. *
Learns and follows all State of Wisconsin mandated reporting guidelines. *
Independently develops a structured, time management system to accommodate client needs and other work-related requirements. *
Possesses and demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with all service and agency related parties. *
Promotes and demonstrates agency values while both in the community and the office. *
Follows and adheres to all community safety practices, car safety protocol and traffic laws at all times. *
Where applicable, learns, follows and shares knowledge of all car and booster seat laws, applicable child passenger safety information, and properly installs car seats and booster seats into vehicles. *
