Channel One News company history timeline

1994

Inspired by MTV, the model worked. (One example of the MTV inspiration: Rather than calling its studio a mere studio, it was called the “hacienda” after a 1994 redesign.)

2000

Starting with Channel One while still in college around 2000, Menounos later became a popular entertainment journalist, working on shows such as Extra, Access Hollywood, and E! News.

2009

In 2009, CBS News entered into a partnership with Channel One.

2010

Alloy was bought by ZelnickMedia in 2010.

2015

Since 2015, we’ve been throwing two newsletters a week into inboxes the world over, and count more than 12,000 regular readers.

2018

It sounds unusual, but it’s got some pretty killer bonafides—last year, the Wall Street Journal (a.k.a. that fancy newspaper at the center of the financial universe) called it “the best investment of 2018.”
