Responsibilities
The Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the surgical team in the outpatient clinical setting, working alongside surgeons, residents, Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants (NPs/PAs), and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. The RN plays a key role in the preoperative and postoperative management of adult surgical patients within the Breast and Melanoma practice.
The RN's responsibilities include but are not limited to preoperative and postoperative patient evaluation and education along with reinforcement of the disease process and care management recommendations, coordination of multidisciplinary care including collaboration with other departments such as Breast Clinic, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Plastic Surgery and facilitation of non-face-to-face patient triage via phone and portal messaging. The RN also interacts extensively with the in basket and electronic health record system to manage orders, create surgical listings, and coordinate with other specialties involved in patient care as directed by the physician.
The RN role is key to the overall facilitation of patient management as directed by the surgeon and to ensure seamless patient care coordination. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and a commitment to patient education are essential. The RN must be well-organized, able to multitask effectively, and thrive in an autonomous yet collaborative team environment.
The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources. The RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as a part of the responsibility of their role.
This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
Qualifications
Graduate of a nursing program, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA, at least one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is required.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1, 2020 and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date prior to April 1, 2020 must provide documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program as stipulated by the degree requirement program in place at time of hire.
Additional Qualifications:
Required: Must have a least ONE YEAR current RN experience which could include Ambulatory/Outpatient, Operating Room or bedside nursing. Experience in caring for the surgical patient is preferred. Must be able to problem solve, work independently and demonstrate strong navigation skills in the electronic environment. Applicant must be self-motivated and work well with minimal direction. The RN will assume responsibility for telephone interactions and assume and establish effective collaborative roles with multidisciplinary colleagues. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential.

Current RN license by applicable state requirements.

The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources. The RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as a part of the responsibility of their role.

Qualifications
Graduate of a nursing program, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA, at least one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is required.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1, 2020 and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date prior to April 1, 2020 must provide documented evidence of program completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program as stipulated by the degree requirement program in place at time of hire.

Ebenezer's 2026 Nurse Internship program provides an individualized educational experience, caring for adults patients, and is tailored to meet your nursing career goals. You will be mentored one-on-one with registered nurses to gain hands-on nursing RN experience. The program provides opportunities to enhance your technical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills. In addition to learning RN skills, the intern will observe other nursing roles and interdisciplinary team members. Nurse Intern responsibilities

Required Qualifications

* Currently enrolled in a ADN, BSN, Entry level masters RN program and graduating between Dec 2026- Sept 2027
* Enroll, complete, and pass an summer 2026 internship course at a Minnesota based school of nursing
* Complete one nursing clinical rotation by start date of nurse internship
* Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) Upon Hire
* Able to work with a diverse population of patients and coworkers including subacute/geriatric

* GPA of 3.0 or higher
