Research and recommend changes or additions to BED construction standards. * Participate in the development of BED's 5-year construction plan. * Read, understand, and use distribution feeder maps to install, locate, maintain, and repair the distribution system. * Locate underground lines using appropriate equipment (Dig Safe). * Climb poles, ladders, and operate bucket trucks and aerial lift equipment. * Conduct switching and tagging operations on VELCO and GMP electrical systems. * Perform 24hr "on call" responsibility by responding to after hour callouts. * Subject to 24hr callout for emergency situations (Example: Being called in based on second person callout list). * Required to participate on the Safety Committee on a rotating basis with minimal one (1) year term. We are looking for a SUE Foreman who will be responsible for performing various subsurface utility designating and locating utilities. Responsibilities Mastery in the operation of SUE (Subsurface Utility Engineering) utility locating and designating equipment in complex utility infrastructure environments to accurately map all utilities within the project area. Complete detailed and accurate daily reports, forms and field sketches, both electronically as well as draft by hand. Supervise daily SUE field crew activities and train other crew members. Represent and communicate on behalf of Boudreau Utility Locating with clients, sub-contractors, and third parties during field duties. Drives, operates, and helps maintain vacuum excavation vehicles to provide vertical location and disposition of underground utilities. Assists in providing Maintenance of Traffic Control setup, as well as all related safety and other field tasks. Properly follows all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Reports any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager. Keep the vacuum excavation trucks and support vehicles stocked with the appropriate equipment, supplies, and tools, paints, flags, signs, asphalt, concrete, etc. May be called upon to run small power tools such as jack hammer. Digs, spreads, and levels construction materials. Lifts, carries and holds material, tools and supplies. Maintains regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required. Other duties as assigned. Control labor, material, supply and equipment costs to assure the job is completed on schedule and within budget. See to it that all work is done in a safe and workman-like manner. See to it that all work is completed to BPC quality standards the first time with no need to do work a second time to correct problems. Provide supervision and direction to all crew members at all times. If an employee is not performing their work in a satisfactory manner, direct the employee to cease work, leave the job site and report to the Field. Assure that all Boudreau vehicles, tools and equipment utitilized on the Foreman's job site are maintained in a clean condition and all tools are accounted for at the end of each day. SAFETY Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Conduct weekly tail-gate safety meetings with all crew members and see to it that all related forms and attendance sheets are completed by the employees attending the safety meetings. Report all employee accidents immediately to the Office and the Field Superintendent and immediately complete all accident forms and submit them to the Field Superintendent. Sees to it that all employees wear all appropriate protective safety gear and follow all safety regulations and requirements while on the job site. Keep all work and the job site clean and safe (equipment, bin area, lay down space, supplies and materials) Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent 2+ years' experience in Utility Designating Must be able to work in confined spaces Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately to learn products, processes, safety procedures, installation techniques and equipment use Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Must have a valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Report.
