Job Summary
Responsible for the direction of crew activities on job site, and to provide a high quality of service and safe working environment.
Primary Duties:
Understand and implement job specifications for each site
Assign daily tasks to crew members and ensure compliance
Conduct daily job site safety briefing and tailgate meeting with crew
Safely climb trees using climbing hooks and belts, or climb ladders to access work area
Complete daily paperwork timely and accurately
Report equipment in need of repair to shop mechanic
Supervise safe loading and unloading of equipment
Assist Arbor Foreman with initial and on-going training of crews
Discuss job site observations with Arbor Foreman
Trim and reshape trees to achieve attractive shapes or remove low hanging branches
Cable, brace, tie, bolt, stake, and guy trees and branches to provide support
Cut away dead and excess branches from trees using climbing equipment or buckets of extended truck books, and/or chainsaws, hooks, handsaws, shears, and clippers
Lower branches with ropes or block and tackle
Transplant and remove trees and shrubs, and prepare trees for moving
Safe operation of shredding and chipping equipment, including the feeding of brush and limbs into machines
Safe operation of arbor vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to: boom trucks, loaders, stump chippers, brush chippers, tractors, sprayers, power saws, chainsaws, pole pruners, backpack blowers, and hand tools
Inspect trees to determine if they have disease or pest problems
Clean, sharpen, and lubricate tools and equipment
Shows up to work each day on time; completes all tasks within time expectations; adheres to company dress code policy; wears clean clothes to work each day; follows inclement weather policy and sick leave reporting procedures

Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience
High school diploma or GED
At least 2 years of professional tree work experience, including management of employees
Language Skills
Ability to communicate effectively with crew members and Arbor Foreman
Ability to verbally understand and communicate in English
Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Valid driver license issued by the state where employed is strongly preferred
Valid ISA Certified Tree Worker Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months

Basic tree care principals, pruning techniques, tree ID and disease ID
Tree climbing (above 15 feet), cabling, and safety procedures
Aerial rescue; safe work practices; proper PPE; hazard recognition; Dig Alert procedures and tree removal techniques; basic knots and rope operation for rigging; emergency tree rescue procedures
Excellent internal and external customer service skills, ensuring clients' needs are met in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion by demonstrating courtesy, efficiency, and professionalism
Physical Demands:

Job Description
We are a well-established and rapidly growing commercial roofing and solar contractor with more than 30 years of industry experience and a strong reputation for quality, safety, and service throughout California. Our commercial division supports a diverse portfolio of work including commercial re-roofs, tenant improvements, preventative maintenance, repairs, and industrial roofing projects across the state.
We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Foreman to lead field crews and oversee the execution of commercial roofing projects across multiple systems. This is a hands-on, field-based leadership role that requires occasional overnight travel and reports directly to the Commercial Roofing Division Manager.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in commercial roofing, with prior experience leading crews or acting as a working foreman
• Strong working knowledge of low-slope and steep-slope commercial roofing systems, including Coatings and Hot Air Welded Single-Ply systems (TPO/PVC); Standing Seam Metal experience is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to read plans, scopes of work, and job specifications
• Experience operating or supervising the use of Forklifts, Lulls, Scissor Lifts, and Boom Lifts (certifications preferred)
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical
Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead, train, and supervise commercial roofing crews on active job sites
• Plan daily work activities, assign tasks, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards
• Perform hands-on installation and repairs across multiple commercial roofing systems
• Serve as the on-site point of contact for field operations, coordinating with project management as needed
• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards; conduct jobsite safety meetings and inspections
• Monitor productivity, material usage, and workmanship to maintain schedules and budgets
• Mentor crew members and support skill development and performance improvement
• Complete job documentation, time tracking, and reporting as required
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Description
JOB TITLE: Commercial Roofing Journeyman

REPORTS TO: Foreman
As a Journeyman you are the Foreman's assistant and backup. The Journeyman's primary goal is to be involved in all aspects of the roofing trade, from tear-off to repair and maintenance. Primary roofing systems installed include TPO, PVC, and EPDM. The Journeyman will be responsible for assisting with crew management and administrative tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with crew members to remove and install commercial roofing systems in a safe and efficient manner.
Inspect safety equipment daily and ensure all company equipment is in safe working conditions.
Assist with good housekeeping practices on the roof and staging roof areas with equipment and required materials.
Participate in weekly meetings to discuss job site safety, project progress, and schedule.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises up to 10 employees within your crew, assisting with delegated tasks from Formen. Supervising and assisting crew members in absence of foreman.
QUALIFICATIONS:
4 or more years of Commercial Roofing experience.
Computer/Technology literate.
Must be able to travel up to 5 weeks at a time.

Valid Driver's License
