ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Lead and direct field crews in vegetation management operations, including invasive plant identification, assessment, and treatment. Apply herbicide treatments safely and effectively, maintaining compliance with environmental and regulatory standards. Conduct safety meetings, enforce PPE usage, and ensure adherence to all safety protocols. Coordinate with project managers, landowners, and agencies to plan and execute vegetation management tasks. Maintain accurate records of treatment areas, herbicide usage, and crew productivity. Oversee equipment inventory, maintenance, and readiness for field operations. Coordinate and book travel logistics for field assignments, including lodging and scheduling. Perform tree and brush inventories, hazard tree inspections, and lidar-based assessments. Communicate with property owners and public agencies regarding vegetation work, including pruning and removals. Plan and coordinate work for tree contractors and manage field data collection and reporting.
