Responsible for the conduct of safety training of assigned personnel in accordance with good safety training procedures, in addition to and in coordination with client company policies and procedures. Responsible for being mindful of controlling crew costs including effective use of manpower, proper work methods, amount of trimming, and operation of equipment. Considers inclement weather conditions and determines when to start or stop work, dependent upon its effect on employees and the nature of the work. Safeguards employees and public from hazards in and around work area. Cooperates with customer, police, and fire departments when blocking street or driveways. Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, etc. to protect employees as well as the public. Trained to perform tree and bucket rescue. Follows and enforces safe work practices, rules and policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Complete projects and receive new-project instructions from the Petroleum Construction Manager. Deliver and swap parts and equipment for locations as needed. Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate potential hazards such as Concrete Trees and shrubs Building Parts Other Debris Conduct preventative maintenance on tools and equipment so they stay in good working condition. Work to improve team efficiency and increase profits. Maintain OSHA log, and ensure all certifications are up to date. Provide assistance/manpower to Midwest Petroleum Company Facilities Manager when requested. Assist other technicians with repairs and installations. Organize warehouse inventory. Operate machinery according to project plans and specifications. Mix and pour concrete, grout, cement, sand, or plaster. Provide 24/7 support and on-call services for locations owned by MPC. Handle any other work that can be assigned at the supervisor's discretion. All of our work is geotechnical, including geohazard projects like landslide repair, mudslide repair and erosion control, where experienced tradespeople play a critical role in our success.
