As a Data Engineering Intern you'll work closely with the data engineering and analytics teams to gain hands-on experience in building and maintaining data infrastructure while developing predictive models for operational insights. Under the supervision of the platform manager, the data analyst will lead data analysis and coordination activities for a multi-state public health research project evaluating the integration of genomic sequencing into newborn screening programs, as well as contribute to other ongoing Lab projects. This includes developing and maintaining REDCap data systems, coordinating with study partners, applying advanced programming skills to manage and clean complex datasets, and conducting analyses in collaboration with research teams.

Serve as the lead data analyst for a large, NIH-funded, multi-site feasibility study examining implementation of genomic newborn screening within existing state public health programs, spanning ~14 implementation sites, ~7 public health laboratories, and up to 30,000 newborns.
Design, build, and maintain secure and scalable REDCap databases and data systems to manage complex, multi-source data streams.
Coordinate with study partners and remote teams to design, implement, and maintain robust data systems that support the setup and ongoing operations of the study.
Ensure data completeness, consistency, and integrity across multiple sites by developing and automating data quality checks and monitoring reports.
Apply advanced programming techniques to clean and transform raw data into usable formats for analysis and reporting.
Develop dashboards, reports, and visualisations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Conduct exploratory and statistical analyses to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
Collaborate on other projects across Ariadne Labs by contributing to data-related activities as needed, including data collection, integration, cleaning, analysis, and visualization.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Apriori Bio is seeking a Data Scientist with a track record of developing and successfully applying analytical tools to high-throughput sequencing assays. What You Bring...
PhD in epidemiology or biostatistics with 7+ years of work-related experience (or MPH/MS with 10+ years) leading epidemiological, statistical, and/or machine learning projects in real-world patient data.
Robust statistical analytic skills, applicable to observation study designs, including cohort/longitudinal studies of electronic health records/real world data.
Advanced knowledge in biostatistics approaches, including inferential and predictive modeling, and comfortable incorporating causal inference techniques with machine learning algorithms in real world data.
Familiarity with applying LLMs to real world data for data curation and extracting insights.
Clear communication and confidence in your ability to use agile software tools (e.g., Jira boards) to implement project plans and manage timelines (e.g., Gantt charts) used by multiple teams.
Experience leading complex research projects with real business impacts: from co-creating research programs with clients to delivering high-impact insights to leadership.
Must have experience conducting data manipulation and statistical analysis in Python and/or R programming languages.

Reporting to the Business System Applications Manager, the Business Analyst Intern will work closely with the operations leadership team and will be to responsible for ensuring that all documentation pertaining to Q2 and Q3 Synergy project for the current financial year are completed accurately, quickly and in compliance with regulations.
This position will help streamline our document repository by helping with creation of process flows, test plans and user training materials.

Who we're hoping to meet:
You can work full-time during the summer (May/June - August/September).
You're currently working on your Bachelor's degree, with at least one semester left after the internship.
Your major is in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or something similar.
You're heading into your junior or senior year.
You know how to get your point across, whether you're writing or speaking.
You're curious, detail-oriented, and not afraid to ask questions (even the tough ones).
You enjoy digging into data and figuring out what it all means.
Experience with Salesforce is a plus, but not required-willingness to learn is what matters most!
Location, pay & other important details:
You can work onsite at our Marlborough, MA or San Diego, CA campus. Heads up: intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends aren't provided, so you'll need to have your living situation and transportation sorted out.
Pay range: $21 - $25 per hour, based on your class standing and operational function.

Job Description
At Kindbridge Research Institute (KRI), we are pioneering work in a space that's still taking shape-gambling-related mental health. As a non-profit at the intersection of research, behavioral health, and community well-being, KRI is leading efforts to better understand gambling behaviors and their impact on vulnerable populations such as veterans, service members, and young adults. Through the Massachusetts Research and Education Collaborative (REC), we are building the statewide data infrastructure needed to understand gambling-related harm and advance prevention, intervention, and policy efforts across the Commonwealth.
We're seeking a Part-Time Data & Surveillance Research Analyst to help transform raw data into meaningful insights that drive action. In this role, you will analyze state surveillance datasets, uncover patterns and disparities across populations, and contribute to the evidence base at the heart of this growing initiative. Your work will directly support communities disproportionately impacted by structural inequities and help bring the OPGS Data to Action Framework to life

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct statistical analyses of BRFSS, Youth Health Survey, and other state surveillance datasets to identify patterns and risk factors related to gambling-related harm
Manage, clean, and organize large datasets to ensure accuracy, security, and high analytical integrity
Support development and implementation of the Statewide Surveillance System Plan in collaboration with KRI leadership and external partners
Conduct stratified analyses by race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, and geography to identify inequities and inform targeted interventions
Assist in preparing peer-reviewed manuscripts, reports, and scientific conference materials
Develop analytic summaries for internal planning and external dissemination
Provide analytical support, training, or mentorship to team members and collaborators as needed
Maintain organized data workflows, code documentation, and version control systems
Report to the Project Manager and communicate progress, challenges, and needs
Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive research environment grounded in scientific rigor and continuous learning
Qualifications:
Master's degree (completed or in progress) in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, or a related quantitative field
Proficiency in statistical software such as R, SAS, SPSS, or Stata
Experience with public health surveillance data, survey methodology, and large dataset management
Strong understanding of health equity frameworks and disparities research
Experience with BRFSS or other state-level surveillance datasets is a plus
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and IRB/human subjects research processes
Familiarity with behavioral health, addiction, public health, or gambling-related research
Knowledge of Massachusetts public health data systems is beneficial
Ability to work independently with attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability
