What You'll Do
As a Residential Program Specialist 1, you'll:
•Work full-time, 40 hours a week on-site
• Perform entry level guidance, consultation and program assignments in a timely manner.
• Interact with residents, compile information and prepare records and documents in the resident's electronic health records
• Assist in interactions involving discipline of residents and provide crisis intervention
• Utilize Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) techniques, implement crisis intervention and behavior management procedures when a resident is violent, suicidal, or has behavior difficulties
• Escort and transport residents within the facility and into the community.
• Participant in games, sports, and other recreational activities with the residents.
• Provide care of residents through guidance of personal hygiene and receive requests to make personal telephone calls and visits from family.

• Basic competency in providing directcare for daily living activities to include adaptive care techniques
• Basic competency in crisis intervention and conflict resolution to include de-escalation techniques.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide services (Habilitation and/or Respite) as identified in each clients Individual Service Plan, which can include, bathing/toileting, meal preparation, grooming/dressing, companionship, etc.
Help clients increase independence at home and in the community (outlined in the Individual Service Plan).
Complete all appropriate documentation such as data collection notes, individual work records, and other work-related documents.
Complete all time sheets, leave slips, accident/incident reports, etc., within their stated due dates.
Use professional language and judgement while working with client's, families, and staff through the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).
Maintain all required work certifications and pass DDD required training.
Maintain thorough communication with the HOPE Group staff, as well as families served.
Ensure a healthy and clean work environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Group Home Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing compassionate care, support, and engagement to individuals with developmental disabilities residing in a group home setting. The DSP creates a nurturing and inclusive environment, facilitates meaningful activities, and promotes members personal growth and community involvement.
About the role:
Working in group home setting may be as Part-Time, Full-Time, or On-Call. If position is offered at Full-Time Status, applicant will be expected to work either one weekend day or both depending on needs of the program. ELS group homes provide "24/7-365" care for members which means DSP may work various shifts including morning, evening, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities:
Member Care and Support
Provide personal care, assistance with daily activities, and support to residents based on their individualized care plans.
Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes members' independence and dignity.
Assist with meal preparation, medication administration, hygiene such bathing and brief changing and mobility as needed.
Program Implementation
Participate in planning and implementing engaging activities, programs, and outings for residents.

Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of resident activities, progress, incidents, and

procedures.
