Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in social work and Family Therapy, Counseling, or other human services field
Unrestricted state Licensure to practice independently (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) required. Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) preferred.
Minimum 3 years post-graduate work experience in counseling, social work, and mental health services plus additional minimum of 3 years' experience in supervisory or leadership position. Prior experience working with military and/or Veterans populations preferred. Military spouse or family member experience in a military community highly desirable
Work hours are either 7A-4P Mon-Fri or 10A-7P Mon-Fri ET.

In addition to operating an emergency domestic violence shelter and a 24/7 survivor hotline, LAWS provides therapy, advocacy, and legal services to adult, youth, and child victims of domestic and sexual violence. LAWS also operates the Loudoun Child Advocacy Center for child victims of abuse, and it works to stop violence before it starts with prevention and outreach programming. LAWS also runs The Resourceful Woman in downtown Leesburg - a thrift store that benefits LAWS services and provides survivors with clothing and household items.

The Family Advocate is a key member of the Loudoun Child Advocacy Center (CAC) - a program of LAWS Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services. The Family Advocate works with the child and non-offending caregivers from investigation through all stages of prosecution, providing consistent, reliable, and comprehensive advocacy and support services to promote healing. Education and Experience

Considerable experience in assigned program area and completion of required training programs or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Possession of a BSW or MSW degree and a Commonwealth of Virginia Social Worker license are desirable.

Case management experience is required.
Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor is preferred.

Weekend Residential Advocate The Residential Advocate provides support and direct assistance in a trauma informed setting to promote the health, safety and wellbeing of women and children who are domestic violence survivors. We have immediate openings for weekend shifts: 7am-3:30pm, 3pm-11:30pm, 11pm-7:30am.
Note: Residential Advocates at BAK are essential employees and expected to report to work during weather emergencies or other unusual events. RAs must stay at the center until they are relieved by another responsible staff person, even if others are delayed. The building may not be left without responsible staff on duty at any time.
Responsibilities:
Provides support and direct assistance to shelter residents to ensure their health and safety, which includes walking the hallways, making sure that children are safe and occupied and bathrooms and common areas are kept clean.
Responds to calls from the Crisis Center or Abused Persons Program about new admissions. Welcomes new residents to the BAK center, assists with their orientation and intake to the residential facility and provides for immediate needs; also assist with resident admissions and discharges.
Assists in the provision of nutritious meals and snacks for residents and children per established schedule, and assists residents in meal preparation, set up and clean up.
Ensures that the facility is clean and in good order, eliciting assistance from residents and other RAs to handle routine household chores. Prepares rooms that have been vacated for new residents and does laundry. Alerts the Residential Services Coordinator of need for repairs or maintenance.
Coordinate activities and assist residents with daily living tasks and/or concrete service plans, ensuring safety, cleanliness and order in the Center. Be responsive to moment-to-moment resident needs and act as a liaison between the resident and counseling staff.
Provides transportation for residents to appointments as deemed necessary in program vehicle, or with tokens and taxi vouchers. These may include court, medical appointments, social services, and housing agencies, and to pick up client belongings that were left behind.
Assists with Child Care duties as requested and with weekly recreational and leisure time activities at the Center. Assists with BAK's special seasonal events such as the Holiday Store, Summer Camp and Birthday celebrations.
Reads the current Log at the start of every shift and adds client notes, shift log notes and critical incident reports that are neat, timely and accurate. Assists at Community Meetings to discuss resident concerns and build a sense of community.
Provides supportive assistance to residents in developing life skills as identified in their service plan. Assists in the sorting, storing and distribution of donations to the center.
Overnight Residential Advocates in addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, complete wellness checks and safety rounds of the facility every hour.

What to expect.
You will work under the supervision of a licensed behavior analyst to implement behavior intervention plans, collect data, and provide support to students with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges.
Specific responsibilities include:
Assisting in the development and implementation of individualized intervention plans (BIPs).
Collecting and accurately recording data on client behavior during intervention sessions.
Assisting in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and ongoing assessments to monitor progress.
Providing training and support to caregivers and staff on behavior management techniques and intervention strategies.
Participating in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
What we need from you.
One of the following combinations of education and experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1 year of related experience.
Associate degree and 2 years of related experience.
High school degree or GED and 4 years of related experience.
Must meet Sheppard Pratt's requirements to operate a company vehicle:
Be 18 years old with at least 2 years of driving experience.
Having a valid driver's license.
Driving record with 2 points or less for the 3 most recent years of driving history.

This position is to support the Military One Source Program- Supporting Military service members and their families.
Responsible for providing assistance, services, resources, referrals, and consultation on various Non-Medical Counseling (NMC)/Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and work/life issues to military service members and their families. Demonstrates an ability to effectively handle and manage high-risk calls with professionalism and in accordance with established protocols. Maintain the highest degree of sensitivity, compassion, and respect for Service members and their families.
Assesses the needs of the caller to ensure first-call resolution of all presented needs.
Educates participants on specialty program offerings, promote services, and demonstrate knowledge of military culture.
Conducts comprehensive professional assessments of users' needs for core NMC/EAP and work/life services, which can include but are not limited to, non-medical counseling, health and wellness, and other specialty and add-on services.
Identifies high-risk cases and responds as indicated in accordance with established protocols.
Deescalates callers, navigates resources, resolves complex concerns, and assesses and takes action in crisis situations.
Ensures all calls are handled according to contractual service standards and document all cases in the Case Management System (CMS).
Performs call follow-up and reporting as assigned.
Demonstrates outstanding customer service.
Demonstrates understanding of military culture and addresses Service members by their rank, thanks Service members and their families for their service, and has excellent empathic listening skills paired with appropriate clinical interventions.
Works with team to complete all annual compliance requirements such as External Certification Authority (ECA) renewal as well as annual training such as Cyber Awareness and PII to ensure access to the CMS system is maintained.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors OR Master's degree in social work and Family Therapy, Counseling, or other human services field
1-6 years of relevant post-graduate work experience in counseling, social work, and mental health services.
Pay is based on experience as listed on the post.
