This position works to preserve and/or rehabilitate families while protecting children's physical, emotional, and mental well-being through child protection, adolescent services, placements, and/or permanency plans. Based on position assignment, coordinates the practice and is responsible for primary decision-making of child protection practices or coordinates the services and secondary-service decisions as related to safety, permanency, well-being and preserving families. * Interviews clients and develops appropriate treatment plans; initiates and/or participates in home studies, and provides intensive casework services to families and children; investigates allegations of child abuse and assesses imminent danger for children; makes referrals to community resources and collateral contacts.
* Monitors and reports clients' progress and provides service recommendations/referrals. Ensures that needed services are being provided, that treatment plans are being followed through in a timely manner and determines the appropriateness of the placement and services provided.
* Addresses child safety issues in the home to mitigate safety concerns; ensures that children in the department's custody or supervision receive necessary interventions.
* Provides crisis management and coordinates support services for clients to resolve problems and conflicts.

Licenses/Certificates
* Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance as stated within El Paso County's Personnel Policies Manual.

* Colorado State Child Welfare Caseworker Certification or the ability to successfully complete and pass initial examination within ninety days of enrollment.
Pre-Employment Requirements

Duties are performed in an office environment, client's homes, schools, jails, and court; must be able to climb stairs in or outside of these environments and able to walk up and down driveways and sidewalks. This position may require occasional lifting, such as files, supplies, children, and car seats. Hybrid remote work environment dependent upon Department discretion and business needs. May be exposed to hostile family situations/individuals, and unsanitary and hazardous conditions. Reliable transportation is required as you will be utilizing your own registered and insured personal vehicle to transport clients as needed; mileage reimbursement is available upon request. This position may require a 24/7 on-call and after-hours rotational schedule. Local and non-local travel, including possible out-of-state travel, may be required.

Essential Duties
Recruit and maintain strong relationships with local landlords, public housing providers local housing authorities, civilian and government agencies serving the homeless population in the El Paso County and surrounding areas.
Develop and maintain a written plan for recruiting, training, and retention of qualified landlords for the HAV program in the El Paso County and surrounding areas.
Maintain a current list of qualified Landlords for the El Paso County and surrounding area.
Represent the HAV program with local housing providers to provide them a single point-of-contact for questions and issues regarding the HAV program.
Coordinate with the Veteran and with the Veteran Support Specialist to facilitate the search, application and entry into permanent housing for HAV client households. This will include a Veteran specific long-term retention of housing plan between Veteran and Landlord.

Develop knowledge of local housing laws and common practices and communicate that knowledge to HAV staff and Veteran clients.
Provide support, education, and mentoring to Veteran clients and Landlords on tenant-landlord rights to facilitate good tenant-landlord relations and tenant behaviors that promote permanent housing and stability.

Position Summary:
The School Counselor will work directly with students and staff to determine the mental health needs of the student, deliver clinical interventions consistent with the needs of the student in a safe and ethical manner and evaluate treatment progress. This person will be committed to providing services that help sustain a student's mental health in order to promote academic stability and the ability to thrive within the community. This position will be a 20 hour a week position for 10 months.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Utilize a biopsychosocial model to aid in a comprehensive understanding of the student history, current challenges, and treatment needs.
Promote a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed school climate for all students
Provide individual counseling sessions by appointment.
Develop and submit treatment plans based on the intake session.

* Implements individualized treatment goals and Behavioral Intervention Plans in response to the direction provided by the Clinical Director and Senior Clinical Leader/Clinical Leader and/or other clinical staff in order to improve the behavior and skill acquisition of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
* Travels to Center, Home, and other community settings to deliver services.
* Subbing sessions will primarily take place in the regional centers
* Renders completed sessions daily and writes thorough notes
* Communicates schedule changes and cancellations to clinical team immediately.
* Participates in regular meetings and promptly communicates with Clinical Leaders/Clinical Directors via email and phone, regarding Treatment Plans and Behavioral Intervention Plans, family concerns and questions.
* Fulfills the timely completion of necessary clinical documentation and communication of:
* Daily Treatment Session Notes
* Daily Treatment Target Data
* Daily (If applicable) Behavior Data.
* Keeps updated with other site-related documents and current clinical reports for each child served.
* Remains current regarding new research, current trends and developments in special education and related fields.
* Attends staff meetings, in-services, trainings, and other meetings as requested.
* Additional job duties as assigned

* You enjoy working with children and making a difference!
* H.S. Diploma or GED
* Flexible availability - high demand for time Monday through Thursday from 3-8 pm and Saturday
* Complete new hire training conducted online and in person.
* Proof of vaccinations (MMR, Varicella, and COVID - California mandated)
* Reliable transportation required
* Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally and economically diverse population.
* Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
* Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
* Able to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment.
* Able to appropriately interpret and implement policies, procedures and regulations.

Physical requirements may include but is not limited to:
* Constant visual stimulation, including close vision, distance vision, reading, computer work

* Frequent typing, use of computer
* Occasional walking around building

* Occasional walking to, bending to enter, sitting and using upper and lower limbs to drive car
* Sitting and maintaining close visual attention to write reports and perform computer work (15%).
* Occasional lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading of toys and materials used in home visits (10%).
