1967 THE FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT VISITOR CENTER

Once completed, he then effectively abandoned it for nearly a decade as he pursued major work in Tokyo with the Imperial Hotel, which was demolished 1968, and Los Angeles with the Hollyhock House and Olive Hill for oil heiress Aline Barnsdall.

Two years later the Unitarian church of Oak Park, Illinois, Unity Temple, was under way; in 1971 it was registered as a national historic landmark.

Established in 1974, the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust organization has evolved over five decades, growing its historic sites, expanding its communications through technology, and serving wider audiences.

A non-profit organization founded upon the recommendation of a Blue Ribbon Commission authorized by Governor Tommy Thompson in 1988, Taliesin Preservation restores and preserves Frank Lloyd Wright’s home, Taliesin, and the additional Wright-designed buildings on the 800 acre Taliesin estate.

The architectural restoration of the Taliesin estate in Wisconsin is under the supervision of another non-profit organization established in 1991, Taliesin Preservation, Inc.

In 1992 Taliesin Preservation fully restored the windmill as its first project on the Taliesin estate, in partnership with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.

Taliesin Preservation purchased the building in 1993 and adapted it to serve as the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center.

In 2008, the United States National Park Service submitted the Taliesin estate along with nine other Frank Lloyd Wright properties to a tentative list for World Heritage Status.

Tan-y-Deri underwent a comprehensive interior and exterior restoration completed in 2017.
