Job Description
The Graphic Designer / Content Developer shall provide support to facilitate oral and written communications requirements for the Client with other Government elements, foreign partners, the private sector, and the public. The Graphic Designer / Content Developer shall support the development, preparation, production, coordination, and editing of a range of products that may include finished intelligence products, strategy and planning documents, talking points, speeches, digital interactive products, graphics, presentations, booklets, mobile products, and impermanent/permanent web content for the Client and its directorates, centers, oversight offices, and offices. The Graphic Designer / Content Developer shall assist and collaborate in developing communications standards, guidelines, and processes; streamlining and improving communications standards; reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of communications initiatives; and composing, coordinating, and consolidating recurring reports and work products. The Graphic Designer / Content Developer shall work with the Government to ensure all communication support activities are consistent with Section 508 accessibility standards.

Junior Webmaster and Graphic Artist
to provide web and graphic design support in a federal environment. This role involves assisting with the maintenance of websites, updating digital content, and creating engaging, accessible visual materials that meet established branding and compliance standards. The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented professional with foundational experience in web technologies and graphic design, ready to contribute to a mission-driven team.Job Duties:
Create, edit, and reproduce artwork in line with the organization's needs.
Provide graphic design and web design output by utilizing Fireworks, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Windows Media Player, and the Microsoft Suite.
Coordinate with business content owners, a variety of content providers, departments and offices to provide graphics solutions.
Draft final version for use in office-based and online publications and presentations.
Perform basic maintenance, administration, and minor change related actions on G-6 maintained websites and web-based services.
Ensure compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) Accessibility Standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field of study, or three (3) years Webmaster and Graphics Artist experience.
Familiarized with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) Accessibility Standards.

Most of the work will be tactical - RFP graphics, pitch decks, proposal layouts, and collateral that need to be polished and precise - while also offering exposure to branding and storytelling with room to grow into broader creative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design polished, professional graphics for proposals (RFPs), pitch decks, and other collateral that clearly communicate key messages.
* Take complex or dense copy and translate it into clean, visually compelling layouts that tell a story.
* Ensure brand consistency across all outputs while adapting to the specific needs of each project.
* Collaborate with the Lead Designer and cross-functional teams (proposals, talent, business development) to align visuals with strategic objectives.
* Balance multiple design requests with varying timelines, delivering accurate, on-time products in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications:
* 2-4 years of design experience (agency, in-house, or freelance).

About the Position:
The Graphic Designer, working with the Senior Graphic Designer, Associate Creative Director, and other George Mason University team members, will create marketing and communication materials that engage the university's target audiences and inform them about George Mason University. The designer will uphold and develop the George Mason brand in print and digital forms. It is ideal that the position holder loves everything about design and thrives in a creative environment. Responsibilities:
* Designs and creates engaging and impactful branded marketing and communication campaigns and digital products;

* Demonstrated professional experience (typically 5+ years, or equivalent knowledge);
* High level of creativity and experience delivering on complex projects;
* Experience working as part of a professional team;
* A portfolio of print and digital design projects that demonstrate a high-level of skill in conceptualizing, planning, and executing digital and print projects for large, established brands. Specifically, work that demonstrates solid design skills, creativity, and a sharp attention to detail; strong composition and layout skills, an eye for color, type, and image selection; familiarity with working within a strong institutional brand profile or identity system; and comprehension of logical page structure, readability, visual hierarchy, and balance;
* Demonstrated technical expertise in creative software including: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Express, After Effects etc.); web platforms (WordPress, Drupal, etc.); and email marketing platforms (MailChimp, EMMA etc.);
* Demonstrated familiarity with common content distribution platforms, including: social media and best practices for creating effective assets for social media; web page layout and design within content management systems; and email, design and deployed using marketing platforms;
* Ability to share and collaborate with different team members and project stakeholders, including other designers, design management, communications and marketing professionals, photographers, videographers, editorial and production staff, printers, and outside vendors;
* Ability to work independently with a problem-solving approach to all work;
* Ability to take direction and adjust to feedback; and
* Ability to juggle multiple projects with competing deadlines and utilize the team's project management processes and systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
