Position Type: Non-exempt, full-time or part-time, hourly role.
Scope of Role:
Responsible for providing direct support within a single program or unit within a program, typically supporting 4 - 6 individuals in residential settings, or up to 10 individuals in periodic programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver support per individual service/program plans, including socialization, health maintenance, medication administration, skill/behavioral development.

Direct Support: Provides direct support or assistance in accordance with individual service or program plans; assists with socialization and behavioral development, personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, community orientation, shopping, financial management, citizenship, and other activities of daily living.
Records: Accurately documents progress and activity; reviews records and logs to stay abreast of changes in service plans; maintains confidentiality.

Rights: Maintains confidentiality, respects the rights of persons being served, according to applicable the bill of rights; practices universal precautions; assists individuals in exercising their rights.
Health Care:
Appointments: As needed, may accompany individuals to medical appointments; relays orders and information to and from medical providers as required.
Medications: If assigned, accurately administers or supports self-administration of medication and documents delivery of medications and treatments; promptly reports administration errors; maintains appropriate security of controlled medications and other medications and supplies.
General Health Care: Monitors individual's health; documents health concerns; communicates with nurse or supervisor as appropriate; calls 911 in the event of emergency; follows individual health care directives.
Medical Supplies and Equipment: Correctly follows procedures in utilizing medical equipment; reports malfunction or disrepair.
Meal Preparation: Prepares or supports individuals to prepare food in accordance with planned menus and individual choice; knows special diets and prepares individual meals accordingly; monitors mealtime and correctly implements any dining plans.
Employment Responsibilities:
Training: Attends orientation and on-going training as directed; participates in monthly staff meetings.
Employee Scheduling: Works scheduled hours; arrives for work on time; stays on shift until replacement arrives; notifies supervisor in advance when unable to work as scheduled or as soon as possible after the designated start time; may fill in for other shifts where required without causing unapproved overtime, or in the event of emergency.
Teamwork: Works together with others, values others contributions; is courteous; communicates openly; listens; and shows respect to others.
Workplace Safety: Every employee plays a role in developing and maintaining a safe workplace; complies with all established safety policies, procedures, and rules; reports unsafe hazards to their supervisor and participates in safety related training or activities.
Maintenance:
Vehicles: May transport individuals into the community; drives safely and according to local laws; ensures proper use of safety equipment including seat belts, lifts and wheelchair ties; reports accidents to appropriate authorities immediately; reports accidents and safety concerns immediately to supervisor or maintenance personnel.
Housekeeping: Performs daily and seasonal housekeeping as directed; maintains neat, clean and safe environment; reports hazards or safety concerns.
Maintenance and Repair: Monitors environmental safety and may make minor repairs, change light bulbs, etc.; may perform yard maintenance including keeping walkways safe and snow removal; reports equipment or facilities requiring repairs to supervisor or maintenance personnel as required.
Safety: Checks water temperature as required when assisting with bathing; participates in safety drills and protects persons being served in the event of emergency.
Other:
Performs other duties and activities as required.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills required for the Job

Education and Experience:

Maintain valid driver's license, meet all insurance requirements, and be approved by management to be a driver for the company. If an employee is determined to have lost their driving privileges by failing the company MVR driving record requirements per company policy, the employee will be required to sign a Non-Driver form and restricted from driving on behalf of the company until their MVR report satisfies the company requirements for a good driving record.

· Prepare the treatment room for examination of pets and all necessary medical item and supplies (e.g. vaccinations, fecal loops, slides, etc.) for the veterinarian and/or veterinary technician. Set up fecals, smears, and skin scrapings as allowed by state rules and regulations.
· Maintain the flow of the Cycle of Service in accordance to position. Provide Client Education regarding preventive care, Optimum Wellness Plans, and basic status of hospitalized pets. Serve as support to the Client Services Coordinator staff on an as-needed basis.
· Hold or restrain pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation.
· Prepare routine in-house laboratory tests (e.g. canine heartworm, feline leukemia, FIV, and canine parvovirus) as allowed by state rules and regulations.
· Monitor the comfort of hospitalized patients. Ensure the comfort of hospitalized patients by "walking", exercising, feeding, and cleaning cages and pet (when approved by the veterinarian or veterinary technician).
· Bathe and dip pets when necessary to treat dermatological conditions (when advised by veterinarian or veterinary technician.
· Clean the surgical suite and instruments.
· Ensure cleanliness of the hospital including but not limited to housekeeping such as laundry, dishes, mopping, cage cleaning, trash collection and removal and instrument cleaning as outlined by hospital protocols

Regions Digestive Care is staffed by Advanced Practice Providers who are dedicated to clinic and hospital service, as well as GI physicians who have varying clinic rotations along with their procedural, and hospital schedules. GI Advanced Practice Providers manage a full patient caseload and are trusted experts in this specialized field. They provide new patient assessment for patients with liver and general GI disease; ongoing chronic disease management for this patient population; and between-visit partnership with patients in the management of their disease. The Special Needs Child Care Assistant plays a critical role in supporting all children, with a particular focus on children with special needs and varying disabilities or diagnoses, in alignment with each child's individualized inclusion plan. This position supervises, engages, and supports school-age children during before and after-school care, assists in planning and adapting activities, and performs leadership duties as needed to foster an inclusive and safe environment.
Your Role Will Include:
Supervising and interacting with all school-age children, prioritizing the support of children with inclusion plans. Implementing site-standard accommodations to meet diverse student needs.
Following individualized health and safety plans. Implementing behavior intervention or modification plans for students exhibiting challenging behaviors, including inappropriate verbal or physical behaviors.
Providing proactive support by teaching skills, assisting with social interactions, monitoring emotions, and offering breaks when needed. Adapting activities to enable full participation by all children.
Taking a leadership role in managing escalated situations involving children.
Maintaining positive professional boundaries and modeling appropriate behavior at all times.
Attending and actively participating in required staff meetings and professional development. Following Adventures Plus and Anoka-Hennepin School District policies and procedures. Contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Demonstrating excellent customer service by creating an environment that welcomes children and families of all abilities and backgrounds.
Regular physical tasks include standing, walking, lifting (from below waist to chest), carrying, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, reaching, grasping, fine motor use, speaking, hearing, and visual focus. Occasionally, the role may involve sitting, pushing, pulling, climbing, crawling, and supervising children outdoors in all weather conditions.
Qualifications:
Experience engaging and supporting students with individual needs.
High school diploma or equivalent PLUS one of the following:
120 hours of training in a child-related area, OR
12 college credits in a child-related area, OR
Proof of passing the ParaPro/Paraeducator exam.
AND
6 months of consistent experience working with children in a child care setting OR
1,040 hours of paid experience working with children.
Salary and Benefits:
Starting at $18.54/hour up to $19.30/hour with an Associate's Degree (AA) plus up to $2.70/hour - $2.80/hour stipend (some conditions may apply).
FT position - PTO, health, dental, 403b.
Location & Shift Times:
24 Elementary Schools across the district in the communities of Andover, Anoka, Blaine, Brooklyn Park, Champlin, Coon Rapids, Dayton, Ham Lake, or Ramsey.
FT Split Shift hours - 6:30am -9:30am and 3-6pm.

Front Desk & Guest Relations
