JOB SUMMARY: The Childcare + Club J Attendant provides direct care and supervision to children, six months to five years of age, at our drop-in childcare center. The Childcare + Club J Attendant may also help out transporting children to and from recreational sports classes, or act as a camp counselor during Vacation Day Camps (if interested and available). ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (These examples represent the essential functions of the position. They are not, however, inclusive of all the duties the position may be assigned to perform.) Provide direct care and supervision of children to ensure a safe, secure environment. Monitor children's play and execute a variety of youth activities. Respond to behavioral issues as they arise and model appropriate problem solving behavior. Implement discipline and safety measures as necessary. Report issues and incidents to parents and supervisor. Provide excellent customer service. Provide general information about MJCC programs and operations. Answer questions and address concerns within scope of authority. Keep Manager informed of daycare needs, questions, and issues. Enforce daycare center policies within scope of authority. QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position is qualifying. This would typically include: American Red Cross certifications in First Aid and CPR/AED; Education sufficient to read, write and perform the duties of the position; and Responsible experience providing care and supervision to children. Knowledge: Knowledge of childcare practices and techniques. Knowledge of MJCC emergency procedures. Ability: Ability to communicate effectively with children at their individual developmental levels; ability to supervise and manage groups of varying sizes; ability to understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures, and instructions; ability to meet and deal courteously and effectively with other employees, parents, and the public; ability to remain calm and use good judgment during confrontational or high-pressure situations that may arise; ability to provide excellent customer service; ability to use good judgment and make decisions within scope of position; ability to be punctual and work a flexible schedule as needed. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an environment that is quite noisy and busy, and may include exposure to biological conditions including body fluids, germs, and childhood illnesses. This position is not required to provide personal care (diaper changes), nor does it require handling of food. Physical requirements may include lifting children or heavy items (up to 50 pounds unassisted), bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, standing, and walking. Work requires vision and hearing within normal ranges. Additionally, this APP may be intermittently provide oversight of the infusion unit, responding to acute infusion reactions and urgent medical issues. The Role Child Abuse Medical Providers are responsible for providing medical evaluations of children suspected to be victims of abuse or neglect. This position utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach to the evaluation of suspected child abuse, working in partnership with forensic interviewers, family support specialists, and community partners such as law enforcement and child protective services. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: * Performs sensitive and thorough medical examinations of children for whom there are concerns of child abuse and/or neglect, including colposcopy and team participation during child interviews. * Gathers comprehensive social and medical history from caregiver and/or patients and review other relevant case information. * Assesses general pediatric problems, physical findings, and development; coordinates medical follow-up. * Completes all required documentation and reports in a timely manner, ensuring the product is well-organized and professionally written. * Reviews medical records and/or provides medical consultation as requested by community partners. * Maintains professionalism and expertise in child abuse issues, general pediatric issues, and medical evaluation standards by receiving related continuing education and staying abreast of current research. * Participates in team meetings, quality assurance reviews, peer reviews, and case consultations. * Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. Develops and maintains positive working relationships with community partners and team members at all levels of the organization. * Testifies in court, as necessary. * Provides periodic after-hours on-call phone consultation on a rotating schedule. * Participates in MDT meetings, as needed. * Maintains confidentiality. * Operates in a trauma-informed manner. * Performs other job duties as assigned. What We Require: * Professional degree (PNP, FNP, MD, or DO). * Licensed in the State of Oregon or eligible for licensure in Oregon. * Minimum three years of clinical experience examining and treating pediatric patients. * Knowledge of child abuse dynamics. * Critical thinking and decision-making skills. * Experienced at helping clients and solving problems. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Ability to communicate in English effectively, including clarity of thought, and grammar, both verbally and in writing. * Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Additional Information: * Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm. * We are a facility-dog friendly workplace and anticipate having a working facility dog in the center on a daily basis within the next year.
