Position Summary: The College of Business and Economic Development at Arkansas Tech University has a faculty opening for a full-time, tenure-track position to teach undergraduate courses in finance, including financial management, investments, financial institutions management, and real estate with a starting date of August 2025. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Business, both on campus and in virtual modalities. Effectively advise students. Engage students in high impact learning practices on campus, off campus, and in virtual modalities. Conduct scholarly research consistent with AACSB guidelines and School of Business policy. Provide impactful departmental, college, university, and professional service to the university, community and state, both on campus and through other avenues. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge - understanding of academic discipline and teaching pedagogy as it applies to introductory, upper-level and graduate finance courses. Minimum Requirements: Doctorate (or ABD with completion prior to August, 2026) in Finance or closely related discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in Finance from a regionally accredited institution. Ability to develop a sustainable research program that could enhance our undergraduate and graduate programs. Excellent oral & written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Finance from an AACSB-accredited institution. Demonstrated abilities in finance, particularly financial management, investments, financial institutions management, and personal finance. A CFA credential is strongly preferred. Evidence of teaching excellence at the university level and commitment to continuous improvement in teaching, mentoring, and working with undergraduate and graduate students. Experience with online instruction. Record of scholarly activity and strong research interests in finance and/or evidence of recent consulting relating to finance. Ability to seek external funding. Commitment to creating and fostering industry relationships.
