Job Summary:
Our Linguists are responsible for performing real-time transcriptions of sensitive material from Spanish to English; collecting, analyzing, identifying, and decoding of colloquialisms and slang terms; extracting pertinent information and communicating that information to law enforcement agent(s). The linguist will be responsible for transcribing source documents and recordings from storage media, including but not limited to audiocassettes, videocassettes, or digital media.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Listens to oral and written intercepts or pre-recorded communications in Spanish and provides verbal and written synopsis and transcriptions as it may be applicable per project.
Responsible for relating all pertinent information to the Client when supporting a live project.
Contributes to a master-list of slang words and codes (used by a particular group/organization) for the duration of the project/case.
Maintains a voice library for the duration of the project.
Transcribes and translates pertinent calls and documents as assigned by their supervisor.
Produce court ready transcriptions of pertinent calls, chats, and documents, following the required format.
Responsible for using the various reference tools created during the project.
Ability to transcribe a minimum of 16 minutes of recorded conversation in an 8-hour day.
Operates specialized software equipment provided by the government to include JSI voice box, Pen-link, Comverse, and other communication collection equipment used at their assigned site.
Maintain daily log of productivity.
Performs related duties as assigned, within the scope of practice.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years' experience in a professional setting OR Associate degree AND five (5) years' experience in a professional setting OR a High School Diploma AND seven (7) years of experience.
Minimum of one (1) year of transcription experience in the required language

**Responsibilities**
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Provide written translation services for legal documents including letters, reports, website content, posters, brochures, general information documents, correspondence, etc.
+ Preserve the original content, meaning and tone of the document.
+ Translators must accurately depict cultural sensitivity and clarity.
+ Edit and proofread translated documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to legal terminology.
+ Must be able to conduct a Quality edit proof process when assigned for review.
+ Translators are required to follow style guides, glossaries, and our clients' preferences.
+ Ensure confidentiality and security of all translated materials.
+ Stay up to date with legal terminology and industry's best practices.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
**Qualifications - Here's What You Need**
+ High School Diploma or 4 years of experience.
+ Fluency in one of the following languages:
+ Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Somali.
+ Must have one of the following certifications:
+ Legal Translation online certifications.
+ CTP (Certified Translation Professional).
+ ATA (American Translators Association).
+ AOC (Administrative Office of the Court).
+ Membership to NAJIT ( National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators).
+ Experience working in:
+ State Department.
+ Refugees.
+ Court/ Legal setting.
+ Familiarity with Legal Terminology.
+ Experience with Publications.
+ Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
**Minimum Skills Required:**
+ Must possess problem-solving skills.
+ Exceptional written communication skills.
+ Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
+ Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.

+ This position requires Legal Translation within the Washington State.
+ Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
+ May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
+ May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.

**Qualifications**
**Qualifications - Here's What You Need:**
+ High School diploma or equivalent in years of experience.
+ Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
+ Certified Translation Professional.
+ Translation Certifications.
+ Certifications from a previous agency or
+ Accreditation from a translation program.
+ Must be fluent in English.
+ Must be fluent in Portuguese.
+ Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
**Minimum Skills Required:**
+ The ability to facilitate translation with discretion and impartiality.
+ Proficiency in written communication.
+ A wide breadth of knowledge in a variety of topics
+ Cultural awareness when conducting translations within different regions.
+ Must possess problem-solving skills.
+ Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelors degree in a related field.

+ American Translators Association Certification.
+ Court certified translator certificate.
