    We invite you to join us in making a significant impact on the early detection of hearing loss in newborns by becoming a Newborn Hearing Screen Site Supervisor. As a Site Supervisor, you will play a vital role in overseeing the Newborn Hearing Screen program at multiple sites within your region. Responsibilities The Site Supervisor (SS) is responsible for all administrative functions, staffing and reporting related to their assigned site as well as managing expenses and budget. In addition, the Site Supervisor is responsible for all national clinical and operations programs at their assigned sites and ensuring adequate coverage and screening of all eligible babies. The Site Supervisor is responsible for visiting each site in their assigned area on a regular basis to foster a collaborative and open line of communication with the hospital team. The list of tasks is illustrative only and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.) * Provide customer service in person. * Responds to public inquiries providing accurate information regarding recreation programs and services. * Aids in the promotion and advertising of programs and special events * Copies and prepares various schedules and rosters, etc. for distribution. * Organizes, cleans, prepares and maintains recreation facilities and other work areas * Works programs and special events * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing other related duties as needed * Follow all city policies and procedures * Opens and closes the recreational facility, including turning on and off the complex lights as needed, opening and closing the needed rooms and gates, opening and closing restrooms, posting schedules, ensuring that each field/court has sufficient equipment and getting all games started on time. * Ensure there are the correct number of referees/umpires and scorekeepers on each court/field. * Monitors the games and the recreational facility and tracks winners and losers. Enforces City rules on smoking, drinking and safety. * Provides support to the referee/umpires on the field if there are problems with coaches and/or players. * Writes incident reports on coaches/players if there are problems and/or ejections on the field and writes any accident reports based on City and department policies. Ensures that referees and umpires write up all ejections or incidents. * Updates scores online and at the sites. Maintains the brackets on a game-by-game basis in tournaments. Answers questions on the brackets, where their next game will be played, and directions to the fields. * Settles game protests on the field for all leagues play and forms a protest committee as needed to settle protests for tournaments. * Presents awards to winning teams for both league and tournament play. Take pictures of sports action and of the winners at the award ceremony. * Turns in all game and tournament results to the Recreation Coordinator. * Assists in developing a comprehensive sport program that includes scheduling, bracketing, organizing, publicizing, directing and evaluating. * Works with Recreation Supervisors to communicate the philosophy and objectives of the program to referees/umpires, other supervisors and the public. * Works as a team member to maintain/improve effectiveness and efficiency, and to meet the realistic expectations of the patrons. * Assists in staff training, assignments, recruiting and evaluation of all the staff. * Performs other duties as required. Typical Physical/Mental Demands/Working Conditions Conditions and temperatures may vary depending on the assignment. Requires the use of vision and/or hearing to identify and evaluate emergencies. Must be able to respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies. Requires moderately heavy physical activity exerting 25-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently. Mental demands of intermittent exposure to stress as a result of human behavior. Note: Must be available to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and other schedules to help prepare for recreation offerings. This is a part-time position with variable hours averaging less than 28 hours per week over a period of twelve months.Qualifications Age Requirement: Must be 17 years of age or older Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Preference given to those with education in recreation or a related field. Experience: Background in umpiring/refereeing and coaching is preferred Licenses and/or Certifications: * CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required. Must be obtained within 60 days of hire and maintained throughout employment. * Must have a valid driver's license. A valid Utah Driver's License must be obtained within 60 days of hire and be maintained throughout employment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of: * Working knowledge of rules and referee/umpire mechanics in a variety of sports. * Working knowledge of league and tournament brackets with ability to make minor changes in the brackets as needed during league and tournament play. * Knowledge of park and field maintenance. * Basic knowledge of computers. Experience in defusing tense and emotional situations is a plus. * Write accurate reports, including descriptions of situations, injuries and coach/player ejections. * Communicate with umpires on field assignments, mechanics, and field situations and ability to report problems to the Recreation Supervisor.
