When John R. Wood Properties opened their doors in 1958, Naples was a sleepy fishing village with a few thousand residents.
Founded under a similar name in 1958, the firm still stands as the oldest active real estate brokerage in Southwest Florida.
In 1960, the direct hit of Hurricane Donna helped create a boom as insurance money and new buyers poured into the area.
The two men later became close friends, after Harris took a job as the executive officer for the Naples Board of Realtors in 1964.
Phil joined his father in the real estate business in 1977 after graduating from college with a business degree.
August 22, 2019 (Naples, FL) – John R. Wood Properties announced today the official opening of their new Southwest Florida Real Estate History Museum located at 824 5th Avenue South in Naples, Florida.
