Kitsap Bank company history timeline

1922

Additionally, customers are invited to stop by their local branch to partake in birthday treats. It was purchased in 1922 by Frank E. Langer, and is still owned by the Langer family today.

1961

The new facility replaced a previous Kitsap Bank building at the same site; John Glomsted, the manager who opened the previous branch location in 1961, was tapped as the "honorary first customer" during the new building's opening.

1977

By 1977 the bank's assets had grown to $47 million and it owned four retail locations.

1986

In 1986, Frank and Hannah’s daughter, Helen Langer Smith was elected Chairwoman of the Board where she led the company for 25 years.

1987

In 1987, Kitsap County Bank changed its name to Kitsap Bank.

2011

Helen’s daughter, Cydly Langer Smith was elected Chairwoman of Kitsap Bank’s Board of Directors on March 31, 2011.

2014

In 2014 the bank opened a new location in Bremerton, Washington that featured an integrated Starbucks with separate drive-through windows for the bank and coffeehouse.
