WHAT YOU'LL DOThe Metrologist will perform advanced inspection work in the state metrology lab.
You will work on planning, developing, and implementing measurement standards according to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Office of Weights & Measure (OWM) requirements.
You will serve as a state legal signatory, technical consultant and liaison with industry and government agencies.
You may train others.
You will test, calibrate, and certify standards within the calibration and measuring capabilities of the lab for other labs, industry and governmental jurisdictions.
You will work under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES Perform metrological calibrations on artifacts received within the calibration and measuring capabilities (scope) of the lab, in a manner that is metrologically traceable through NIST to the International System of Units (SI).
Compile and generate official calibration certificates as an approved signatory according to the international standards requirements for reporting results in ISO/IEC 17025, Handbook 143 and NVLAP Handbook 150.

Teacher Aide I:

Qualifying experience may include work in church-related schools, day camps, youth groups, private schools, licensed day-care centers, or similar experience.
If the applicant does not hold a TEA Educational Aide certification or a certification substitute allowed by the job description, the applicant will sign an Agreement to Obtain Certification - Teacher Aides, HR 401ta, upon being hired. The teacher aide must obtain the Educational Aide certification within six (6) months of employment. The recommendation for the level of certification obtained (I/II/III) will be based on the applicant's education and experience. If the applicant obtains a level II or III certification, he/she will be appropriately reclassified.

What You Bring:

Directs charting on shift and makes regular detailed evaluation of all residents charting at least monthly so chart reflects progress and condition of resident at all times. Is responsible for approving and signing each chart when observations are made.
Be aware of legal implications if physician orders are not carried out correctly.
Be sensitive to resident's families and respond in an appropriate professional manner, as the situation requires.
Know when the situation cannot be handled and be willing to ask for help and to know who to ask.
Abide by policies of facility and ascertain that employees under his/her supervision do the same.
Supervise serving of prescribes diets and fluid in take (it is acceptable to document only deviations from normal) and report persistent unresolved problems to physician and the Director of Nursing.
Ensure that all medications and treatments are charted “after the fact: by person administering the medication or completing the treatment on his/her assigned shift.
Supervise the preparation of incident and accident reports.
Ensure that a copy of the medical records and discharge information is forwarded with the transfer of residents in accordance with the facility Transfer and Discharge policy.
