The Global Technology, Outsourcing and Privacy Group seeks an experienced attorney in a part-time position to help grow an innovative team serving corporate in-house legal departments. The attorney will work directly with sophisticated clients on client-focused service teams and will manage his or her own matters under the supervision of a managing attorney. Responsibilities include analyzing, drafting, and negotiating master services agreements, marketing agreements, statements of work, non-disclosure agreements, supply agreements, license agreements, SaaS agreements, general terms and conditions, and a variety of other commercial contracts.
The successful candidate will be team-oriented with a strong focus on client service. Strong communication and time management skills are required. Four or more years of commercial contracting, procurement, or information technology experience is preferred. The attorney will have access to firm resources, including continuing legal education.
The position has an annual billable hour expectation of less than 1,000 hours, but no minimum hours are guaranteed. The attorney will be paid on an hourly basis for billable hours worked and recorded at a rate determined by experience. This position is not partnership-track or benefits-eligible. The position offers flexible hours but schedule will be subject to client needs. The attorney will telecommute from a home office in the District of Columbia or any U.S. state, other than California, in which the firm maintains an office, and the attorney must be licensed in that jurisdiction. At the time of posting, the expected salary range for this position is $130/hr to $155/hr. Actual salary offers may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to, education, training, skill sets, licensure and certification, practice area, experience, internal equity, and market data. The Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) is the state agency in Massachusetts responsible for providing an attorney when the state or federal constitution or a state statute requires the appointment of an attorney for a person who cannot afford to retain one. The Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) is the state agency in Massachusetts responsible for providing an attorney when the state or federal constitution or a state statute requires the appointment of an attorney for a person who cannot afford to retain one. The Opportunity
HLA's Summer Law Clerk Program aims to contribute to the development of law students into public interest attorneys who serve people facing barriers to care and coverage. Our Access to Care & Coverage Practice (ACC) is seeking two law clerks for a 10-week internship (full-time - 40 hours per week) during the Summer of 2026.
HLA is currently operating in a hybrid model with staff working both on-site and remotely. Arrangements for the Summer Law Clerks are flexible. HLA has run highly successful remote and hybrid Law Clerk programs since 2020.
About Access to Care & Coverage
HLA's Access to Care and Coverage Practice (ACC) specializes in challenging errors in health insurance enrollment, fighting denials of coverage for health care services, and protecting patients from illegal medical billing and collection practices. We serve people with coverage under Medicaid (MassHealth) and private health insurance. Our ACC team devotes particular attention to the health care problems faced by immigrants, trans and gender diverse people, and patients with long-term care needs. A top priority for all of HLA is pursuing racial and ethnic equity in health care.
Responsibilities
Availability to work full-time for a 10-week period during the summer of 2024. Internship dates are May 18, 2026 - July 24, 2026.
Assist attorneys in the representation of individual clients with duties including legal research, analyzing health insurance and medical billing records, advocating with health insurers and health care providers, drafting letters and other communications to parties, and connecting with clients and key collaterals by phone and email.
Participate in advocacy to reform public policies through legal research, writing, and attending meetings with state leaders and advocacy partners.
Qualifications

Compensation
This position pays $6,000 (pre-tax) for a full-time 10-week Clerkship.

NORTHEAST REGION
The Northeast Region is filled with history. Lowell is known as the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution for its textile manufacturing with many of these historic manufacturing sites preserved by the National Park Service. During the Cambodian genocide, the city took in an influx of refugees, leading to Lowell having the second largest Cambodian-American population in the country. Salem is one of the most significant seaports in early American history and it is well-known for its role as the location of the Salem Witch Trials.

WEST REGION
The West Region has a diverse topography from the Berkshire Mountains to the banks of the Connecticut River. The region is home to 22 colleges/universities which is the 2

The city of Worcester became a center for the American Revolution that was recognized for his industry and as a result attracted many immigrants of European descent. The city of Springfield was designated by George Washington for an Armory that became the site of Shay's Rebellion and is now a national park and site to the world's largest collection of historic American firearms. The city played a pivotal role in the Civil War as a stop for the Underground Railroad.
