• Verify pharmacy information, last visit, last fill, insurance, pick up or mail etc.
• Prior authorizations should be handled within 24 hours of receiving the request from the pharmacy or insurance company. Document all interactions with patient and pharmacy.
• Update medications and respective information on patient's charts.
• Provide guidance and education to patients on the details of what has been prescribed and when/ where to get the medication;
• Provide information for afterhours call line and information to call if patient has a question. Document this interaction in patient chart.
Requirements

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICALASSISTANT
As a MedicalAssistant, you are directly involved in ensuring that we deliver focused and empathetic patient care at all times. As a true people person, you thrive in this environment as you greet patients warmly and triage them upon arrival. You prepare them to see the physician by preparing examination and procedure rooms, obtaining their histories, vital signs, and weight/height measurements. As needed, you perform some administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and procedures for patients as well as managing the necessary documents such as pre-authorizations, medical records, and test results. While maintaining a calming presence for our patients, you also assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MEDICALASSISTANT
1+ years of experience as an MA
Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
