My background is a great mix of sectors-nonprofit and business-and I have enjoyed working globally and domestically. Making a difference in the world has been the unifying thread in my career. Since business school, I have honed my strategic problem solving skills at Bridgespan and successfully launched initiatives at the intersection of business and community for John Hancock and Citizens. After leveraging all of these experiences at the Schott Foundation in the area of public education and at YBUSA in service of opportunity youth, I’m happily expanding my horizons into public health and equity as Chief Operating Officer of NICHQ.

Scott Berns is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at The Warren Alpert Medical School Of Brown University; Clinical Professor of Health Services, Policy and Practice at Brown University School of Public Health; and Member, Board of Directors at White House Fellows Foundation and is based in Providence, Rhode Island. He has worked as White House Fellow at The White House, Senior Vice President of Chapter Programs & Deputy Medical Officer at March of Dimes, and Pediatric Emergency Physician at Hasbro Children s Hospital. Scott studied at Boston University School of Medicine between 1984 and 1988 and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health between 1994 and 1995.
