About this Site:
Cape Cod National Seashore protects 40 miles of sandy ocean beach, marshes, ponds, and upland forests. Lighthouses, cultural landscapes and buildings, and wild cranberry bogs offer a glimpse of Cape Cod's past. Recreational opportunities abound, including fishing, swimming, surfing, boating, hiking, biking, and wildlife viewing. Summers are usually warm and humid, often broken up by rainstorms. Annual park visitation exceeds four million, and summer populations in local towns swell with vacationers and second-home owners.
The park is located on the outer edge of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, extending from Chatham to Provincetown. The intern will work out of the Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham. Park housing is shared cottage-style homes with shared bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas. Interns will need a vehicle to get to their duty station. Housing can be a 20-minute-or-more drive from their duty station. Public transportation is limited although there is a regional bus system. A car is necessary to get around, including to access the laundry area, grocery stores, and primary work site.
Throughout the park, Wi-Fi and cell service are often spotty; interns and seasonal staff often use local libraries for focused communication or downloading media to play later.

Coordinates and participates with Youth Action Board (YAB) on an ongoing basis. This role is an active presence in the YAB community and runs/attends meetings of the YAB and YAB related events.
Attends and is an active participant in county-wide initiatives, meetings, and committees that promote funding and resources to young adults experiencing homelessness. Demonstrates ability to be a “young adult voice” in this role.
Assists the YYA Case Managements team with referrals, coordination, and communication with YYA clients
Actively aids in the recruiting and hiring process for YAB members
Collaborate with other departments and agency programs to maximize participant outcomes, program goals, and agency mission
Supports the YYA case managers in collecting all necessary documentation needed to support assistance
Collaboratively work with funding resources to find and secure prevention funds for eligible participants if needed
Utilizes “lived experience” to act as a mentor and support to YYA involved in the case management program
Provides limited case management services that potentially includes: providing appropriate resources, tools, and counseling to assist participants in preventing homelessness; Make referrals for services that would increase housing stability including, but not limited to, primary care, behavioral health, substance abuse, and legal services; following up to ensure that the referrals were completed; tracking and documenting participant progress
Provides transportation, interface with landlords to mitigate issues or advocate for participants as directed by the case management staff
Collaborate and communicate closely with other agencies/programs also involved in participant care (Community Services, Police Department, DMH, Domestic Violence Services, Legal Services, etc.)
Document and maintain up-to-date information on services provided to participants in the electronic tracking system and hard copy case records
Communicate regularly with supervisor and participate in supervision sessions.

Are you the In-Home Behavioral Therapy CLINICAL INTERN we have been looking for? In this position you will be able to convey your passion for helping others by supporting our clients to achieve their goals! JRI's In-Home Behavioral Services program is a home-based service committed to assisting youth in identifying and reducing challenging behaviors. Our staff and interns work closely with the child and their family to create and implement individualized behavior plans to improve the child's functioning. Our treatment approach is rooted in behavioral fundamentals and individualized to meet the unique needs of each child and family.
JRI provides the training so that:
YOU will work with a team to provide trauma-informed care to youth who present with difficult and challenging behaviors.
YOU will utilize home/community based behavioral interventions to empower caregivers to manage youth's challenging behaviors and promote positive alternatives for success.
YOU will collaborate with Behavioral Monitors to coach and model interventions, developed from a positive behavioral perspective through a trauma informed lens.
YOU will gain numerous skills and competencies in Behavioral Services to bring strength to your existing skills.

Requirements:
Candidates must be working towards a Master's in Social work degree, 2nd year students preferred.
