This role sits at the intersection of brand storytelling, design, merchandising strategy, and product development, with a sharp focus on delivering elevated design at accessible price points for off-price retailers. The ideal candidate has a refined eye for design, a strong understanding of off-price retail dynamics, and the ability to partner closely with Design, Sourcing, Sales, and overseas vendors to bring compelling, well-priced furniture assortments to market-on time and on brand. Furniture categories include seating options, accent chairs, dining chairs, bar stools, benches, ottomans, case goods, etc. Key Responsibilities Merchandising Strategy & Assortment Planning Lead seasonal assortment planning in partnership with Design and Sourcing to ensure a compelling, cohesive product mix that aligns with brand storytelling, customer needs, and off-price retail constraints. Brand Storytelling & Design Collaboration Partner closely with the Design team to translate seasonal concepts, trends, and inspiration into commercially viable furniture assortments. Ensure all products, finishes, materials, and packaging reflect the brand's aesthetic while meeting off-price cost targets. Product Development & Sourcing Merchandise new product concepts supplied by overseas vendors and agents based on seasonal design direction Communicate product requirements (sizing, finish and fabric preferences, materials, etc) and deliverables to our agent and vendor base Partner with leadership on strategy for sourcing new developments - communicate with vendor base, manage PD process Negotiate Costing and MOQ with vendors for new designs based on merchandising plan and seasonal storytelling Review + action weekly Product Development trackers from overseas agents/vendors to maintain status and tracking of product samples Work with vendor base to maintain product details - weights, dims, loadability Manage PD spreadsheets, pricing spreadsheets and visual line lists to ensure costing information and product detail are accurate and up to date Work with management on pricing sheets for retailers Quality & Production Support Ensure packaging and product quality meet company standards. Review inspection reports and address any product conformity issues. Partner with Planning and Operations to support SKU setup and order-ready product flow. Align packaging/labeling and product details on product signage as needed (working with Packaging Design Manager). Work with Planning to update Sku set-up forms for order ready product Market, Competitive & Customer Intelligence Monitor off-price market trends, competitive assortments, and emerging opportunities to keep the line relevant and differentiated. Participate in all sales meetings to communicate merchandising strategies, present new developments, and integrate customer feedback into future assortments. Lead the merchandising and preparation of the showroom for market weeks, line reviews, and customer meetings.
