The Job
We are looking for a Chemical Production Shift Supervisor for our Conroe, Texas plant.
Some of your main duties & responsibilities:
Lead daily shift operations of the production team by planning work schedules, assigning tasks, tracking attendance, and ensuring output meets safety, quality, and cost standards.
Develop, implement, and maintain up-to-date standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions; ensure staff are trained accordingly.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, maintenance, and logistics teams to resolve process issues and implement corrective actions.
Monitor and double-check production indicators (e.g., downtimes, energy usage); analyze data, document incidents, and summarize shift outcomes.
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and internal policies; act as intervention leader during emergencies.
Provide performance feedback, coaching, and ongoing training to team members to promote accountability and continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate and compliant production documentation, including shift reports and batch records.
Support raw material logistics and production planning to reduce waste and minimize downtime; coordinate safe handovers during shutdowns or major maintenance stops.
Organize and lead shift meetings to communicate updates, share key information, and align on performance or incident learnings.
Utilize SAP and other digital tools to manage production tracking, inventory, maintenance, and reporting workflows.
Who are we looking for?
You'll succeed if:
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Hands-on knowledge of esterification processes and associated equipment (reactors, heat exchangers, distillation systems, etc.).
Strong understanding of batch processing, chemical reactions, and process safety management (PSM).
Strong knowledge of OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
Familiarity with SAP, process control systems, and documentation procedures
Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or related technical discipline OR high school diploma and equivalent work experience.
Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including occasional weekends or after-hours support as needed

The Subcontracts Management Lead is responsible for overseeing the procurement and contract management of major subcontracts executed by the EPC/EPCM contractor on large-scale manufacturing facility projects. Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium
Prepare substrates for vinyl application to include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc
Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images
Operate and maintain wide format roll printers, CNC Router, Laser cutter and flatbed printer.
Produce and fabricate ADA signage.
Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards
Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces
Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee.
Clean and maintain storage areas
Ideal Qualifications for FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist:
3-5 years of experience in sign production preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to stand for long periods of time (4 hours or more)
Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate
Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work
Ability to use light power equipment

Key Responsibilities
1. Production Leadership & Management:

· Monitor line performance in real-time, including cycle times, throughput, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

· Coordinate with the previous and following shifts to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of operations.
2. Quality Assurance:
· Enforce strict adherence to quality standards, IPC-A-610, and workmanship guidelines.
· Oversee first-article inspections and in-process quality checks.
· Lead containment and root cause analysis for defects, non-conformances, and customer returns.
· Partner with the Quality Department to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
3. Technical Process & Equipment Oversight:
· Possess a strong working knowledge of SMT equipment (Screen Printers, Pick-and-Place, Reflow Ovens, AOI, SPI, X-Ray).
· Troubleshoot process and equipment issues swiftly to minimize downtime.
· Escalate complex technical problems to Maintenance or Engineering and provide clear, detailed information.
· Ensure all equipment preventative maintenance (PM) is performed as scheduled.
4. Team Development & Safety:
· Train, mentor, and develop shift personnel on standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and technical skills.
· Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and manage attendance and timekeeping.
· Foster a culture of safety, ensuring a clean and organized (5S) work environment and that all safety policies are followed.
· Manage employee relations, resolve conflicts, and maintain high team morale on the off-shift.
5. Continuous Improvement & Administration:
· Utilize Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles to identify waste and drive process improvements.
· Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency gains.
· Complete all required shift reports, including production summaries, downtime logs, and quality reports.
· Manage inventory of consumables (solder paste, stencils, nozzles, feeders) for the shift.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:

A Brief Summary of This Position:
The Production Manager is a Manager level role within Valmont's Coatings Division. The incumbent must be a highly driven individual who is a confident, hands-on, and independent self-starter with a strong OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manufacturing or industrial coatings background to join the organization and acquire the skills and experience necessary to lead a galvanizing company. This position manages a two or three shift operation including oversight of safety, production, quality, scheduling, lean implementation and initiatives, and compliance reporting.
Essential Functions:
Manage the use of plant resources to ensure that all plant operations are meeting or exceeding safety, quality, and production goals set by the General Manager
Oversee daily operations of the coatings shop, ensuring production schedules, workflows, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.
Receive training in industrial troubleshooting, accounting, financial forecasting, human resources, and galvanizing sales and services
Assist in identifying operations' best practices, performing lean audits and kaizen events
Facilitate positive customer relations through the services of quality coated product and on-time delivery
Track and review production metrics (throughput, quality, rework rates, on-time delivery) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Review and control operation expenses for raw materials, operating supplies, and equipment
Manage inventory of coatings, consumables, and shop supplies, ensuring cost-effective procurement and minimal waste.
Maintain manpower requirements through proper staffing, training, and development of production employees, supervisors, blasters, painters, and support staff.
Ensure compliance with Valmont standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, associate's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or 9+ years of relevant experience

Prior supervisory experience
Proven track record in lean manufacturing principles including standard work, continuous improvement, problem resolution and delivery of results positively affecting the bottom line of the organization
Ability to travel approximately 5-10%

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Some of the working conditions for this position is in a manufacturing shop environment with exposure to dirt, grease, fumes, cold, heat, noise, dust. The Production Manager will work in both the office and shop environment. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. 5-10% travel is required for this position. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
