The Virtual Clinical Informatics - Epic Support Team supports all Providence clinicians and caregivers in their utilization of Epic, this support is provided remotely 24/7. Given the nature of 24/7 support it is crucial that candidates for this role be available to work a variety of days and start times, including at least one weekend day per week. The Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) serves as a professional role model in promoting the understanding, integration, and application of information technology in healthcare settings. The CIS acts as a liaison between clinical care and information technology, supporting all care givers throughout the care continuum in the implementation, learning, use, adoption and optimization of clinical technologies.
Providence supports 100% virtual work for reside within a daily commutable distance (up to 65 miles) of one of the office locations listed below:

Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree Clinical discipline, Information Technology/Informatics, Business, Education, Management, Communications, or related field -OR- a combination of equivalent education and work experience
+ 2 or more years of experience in a position that has the same or similar primary duties working with a clinical information system within a healthcare setting
+ Experience with the Epic EHR platform

Qualifications
Education:

Experience:

Key Position Responsibilities

+ Draft, negotiate and manage end-to-end transaction documents, including purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, operating agreements, governing documents (e.g., articles, bylaws, etc.) and ancillary transaction documents in compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, and policies, and in accordance with relevant legal relationships.

Qualifications
+ Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Responsibilities
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops the service plan for program participant including a reporting plan. Works as part of an interdisciplinary team in implementation of the plan of care, maintaining regular communications with the team members, collateral providers, community corrections staff and linking the client system to needed services within the community. Following client intake into services, meets with client and (if appropriate) family members and team to develop a case management plan.
Maintains regular contact with clients during the program, and following treatment helping with engagement in recovery support, family adjustment issues, medical and benefit issues. Frequency of contact should gradually decrease.
Meets regularly with staff from social service agencies to update them on the plan; identifying unmet series/needs that may be able to be addressed for patient while in treatment.
Attends informational and clinical meetings which may include team meetings, consultation with medical providers, intra-agency trainings as required.
May include work in client's home or offsite community meetings. Some evenings/weekends required.
All services must be provided in a culturally appropriate manner.

Responsibilities
The pharmacy intern is responsible for the safe and appropriate use of medications through the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care, under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
CLINICAL COMPETENCE:
* The pharmacy intern will demonstrate knowledge of clinical pharmacy and apply this knowledge when staffing in the pharmacy.
* All clinical activities will be performed under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and as appropriate to the intern's level of education and experience.
* Clinical activities include those described in the Legacy Intern Manual and may be site specific.
STAFFING AND WORK FLOWS:
* The pharmacy intern will demonstrate competency in a variety of settings - both inpatient and outpatient. Some of these competencies include:
* Performing medication reconciliation during transitions of care.
* Providing appropriate medication counseling to patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
* Completing accurate IV admixing and compounding, following the rules and regulations set forth by Compliance and 795/797 Standards.
* Assisting with operations of the automatic dispensing cabinets (ADC) including refilling medications, loading, and unstocking medications.
* Responding to changes in workload as necessary. Uses time in productive manner - assists technicians & other pharmacists, restocks, cleans, orders, organizes, special projects, etc.
COMMUNICATION:
* Interns are expected to use professional oral and written communication with pharmacy team members; management; nurses; providers; and patients. Professional communication can be described by the following objectives:
* Utilizes effective, open and respectful communication.
* Demonstrates empathy and good listening skills.
* Negotiates and maintains open communication channels.
* Maintains effectiveness with timely flow of information.
* Upholds strong rapport with health care practitioners.
* Demonstrates appropriate telephone and other communication skills.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCE:
* The Intern will provide quality medication-related care by ensuring accurate and efficient distributive services. This includes:
* Preparation of medication orders in assigned areas under the direct supervision of a pharmacist (e.g., compounding, IV admixture, first doses, and central fill)
* Utilizing pharmacy computer technology to dispense medications.
* Completing outdates and quality control for the medications stocked in the hospital.
* Demonstration of knowledge of hospital, departmental and regulatory policies and procedures and incorporates this into daily workflows.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
* The Intern is responsible for updating their pharmacy knowledge and skills and using their knowledge and skills to provide quality pharmaceutical care.
* Attends pharmacy related educational opportunities offered at a System level and at their site of practice.
* Completes required Legacy education and self-learning modules as assigned.
* Prepares medication use evaluations and educates pharmacy staff on new drug therapy if assigned by manager.
SAFETY AND SECURITY:
* The Intern will demonstrate knowledge and application of patient, personnel, department and facility safety and security. This is ensured by:
* Knowledge and application of established policies and procedures, safety, security, and emergency plans which can be found on the Legacy Intranet.
* Maintenance of accurate inventory and records on controlled substances as required by law.
* Maintenance of a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
* Reporting safety concerns and events in the iCARE System and to their manager, as appropriate.
FACILITIES:
* Follows established policies and procedures.
* Maintains temperature monitoring and maintenance per protocol.
* Document all work appropriately in electronic records system.
* Cleans sterile products preparation area daily to maintain integrity of sterile products environment.
* Documents maintenance as required.

Responsibilities

As defined in performance standards, the Cardiac Exercise Physiologist assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care following established operating unit, cardiac rehab therapy and department standards.
The Cardiac Exercise Physiologist participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the supervision of the Rehab Program Manager.
Therapy is provided to patients and families integrating knowledge of the cardiac nursing process to achieve desired outcomes in appropriate and consistent collaboration with Cardiac Rehab RNs and Physical Therapists.
Therapy is planned and coordinated in collaboration with patient/family and other members of the healthcare team to maximize patient outcomes and use of resources.
Education is provided that facilitates recovery, self-care, health maintenance, health promotion and wellness.
Clinical competency is demonstrated through the optimal implementation and evaluation of therapeutic processes.
The practice of cardiac rehab therapy is demonstrated through patient advocacy and promoted through professional development and contribution to the professional growth of others.
Qualifications
Education:
M.S. or B.S. degree from an accredited program of Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science or M.S. or B.S. degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy, with successful completion of the National Board Examination.
Experience:
Experience in clinical delivery of cardiac rehab services preferred.
Licensure
ACLS required.
ACMS certification preferred.
