Summary:
The Electrophysiology (EP) Lab RN plays a key role treating patients with heart failure, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and cardiac arrhythmias. Working alongside electrophysiologists, they assist with arrhythmia ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implants, and medication-based treatments. The EP Lab RN is responsible for patient assessments, procedural support, conscious sedation, and post-procedure monitoring to ensure safe, effective care.
Essential Work Functions:
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for EP lab patients and document findings accurately
Educate patients and families on electrophysiology procedures, pre-procedure expectations, and post-procedure care to ensure understanding and informed consent
Assist physicians with electrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implantations
Administer medications, including conscious sedation, per physician orders
Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and patient responses throughout procedures
Identify and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care as needed
Maintain sterile technique and assist with equipment preparation, setup, and troubleshooting to support seamless procedural workflow
Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans
Provide immediate post-procedure care, monitoring complications and ensuring stable recovery
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills
The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language is required
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
Physical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending
Interpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism

Summary:
The CVOR registerednurse is responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patients, as well as assisting in monitoring and supporting the patient throughout the surgical procedure. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the surgical team to deliver coordinated care
Utilize data from surgical preference cards for the surgical procedure and surgeon
Position patients safely using approved devices to prevent injury and enable optimal surgical exposure
Actively participate in Universal Protocol and timeout to confirm patient identity, procedure, and surgical site
Handle and document specimens accurately to ensure diagnostic integrity
Provide post-surgical care coordination, including patient handoff to the recovery team
Assess, plan, and evaluate the nursing care of the patient before, during, and after a surgical procedure until patient handoff to the next phase of care
Ensure that sterile procedures are followed throughout the course of surgery
Respond effectively to emergencies, such as cardiac arrest, during surgery
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced HVICU Nurse with a strong background in CTSICU or HVICU. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and have a minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience. Previous contract experience is necessary to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the HVICU.
Monitor patient status and administer medications as prescribed.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Document patient care and progress accurately and promptly.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Minimum of 2 years of experience in HVICU or CTSICU.
Active RN license and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Previous contract nursing experience is required.
Availability to work 3 shifts weekly for the duration of the contract.
Request Time Off (RTO) should not exceed 1 week.
Every Other Weekend (EOW) shift requirement.
