Position Overview
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting, developing, and overseeing safety programs throughout the company. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and internal policies, conducts workplace audits and investigations, and collaborates with departments to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. The Safety Coordinator will also provide training, maintain documentation, and support initiatives that promote a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on support to departmental leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA-required signage, housekeeping, lockout/tagout procedures (LOTO), and overall safety protocols.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience in a safety-related role.
3+ years of experience in safety coordination, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
Strong understanding of OSHA standards and safety compliance.
Experience handling workplace injuries and incident investigations.
Experience working with OSHA on site is preferred.
Ability to conduct safety audits, trainings, and orientations.
Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively at all levels of the company.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Bilingual English/Spanish required.

What You Will Do:
Lead and guide site SHE vision and strategy as a member of the Plant Leadership Team
Provide guidance and technical expertise to ensure compliance with SHE regulations including governmental, state, industry, and Ecolab.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in safety, engineering, environmental or related discipline
8 years related experience with 2 years in a EH&S role in a chemical manufacturing environment
Experience managing internal/external audits and good working knowledge of EPA, PSM/RMP, MOC, OSHA, NFPA, and/or related regulations
Proven experience as a HS&E leader, supporting a team of direct reports

The EHS Manager provides authoritative day-to-day support to MSP Operations to ensure safe, standardized, and reliable customer service. Monthly travel to at least one of our regional service centers is required, approximately three to five days per month.
Responsibilities
The following are the key activities and responsibilities of the EHS Manager:
Ensure work is safely executed across operating locations.
Oversee training, standardization, and management of the MSP Drivers Manual and DOT compliance at the state and national levels.
Regularly audit driver qualification records, DISA random and reasonable suspicion drug testing, driver Hours of Service compliance, Workhub entries, Samsara event alerts, and EHS elements of driver training.
Detect, investigate, and record driver compliance records, ensuring compliance violations are resolved in a timely manner.
Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, lessons-learned documentation, follow-up, and closure of action items.
Communicate effectively with all levels of management, and frontline personnel.
Collaborate with drivers, technicians, material handlers, administrative personnel, and management to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Review, document, and evaluate all regulatory obligations, to include mishap reporting, roadside inspection violations, and citations.
Prepare, analyze, and disseminate detailed reports from the Company's telematics system.
Monitor CSA Scores to address trends and drive performance. Provide statistical reports and presentations illustrating DOT compliance trends. Author roadside inspection process reports. Coach terminal managers on roadside inspection and out-of-service issues.
Partner with the VP, EHS to create an annual strategic plan for budgeting and safety initiatives.
Participate in the development and implementation of safety programs for OSHA compliance and author OSHA 300A reports.
Conduct safety and housekeeping inspections for hazards and issue reports with remediation actions to manage hazards identified.
Provide and coordinate training to employees, customers, and/or vendors: training, safety meetings, conference calls, and distribution of safety materials.
Provide and coordinate required documentation to third party risk management agencies.
Provide coordinated support for the Safety element of the Business Continuity Plan.

* Ensures the fire safety readiness of the plant, the incumbent monitors fire inspection reports prepared by the FPE Group and works with the Engineering department to implement recommendations. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring employees are trained in the techniques of fire prevention and the use of portable fire extinguishers and other firefighting apparatus at the Plant. The incumbent will ensure that fire extinguishers are maintained in operable condition and are regularly inspected. In addition, the incumbent must ensure that paints, thinners and other flammable liquids are stored and used in accordance with the National Fire Codes or Company policy governing these items.
* Ensures that supervisory personnel are trained and certified in Basic First Aid and that there are sufficient supplies and equipment to render first aid during a medical emergency.
* Coordinates the facility Confined Space Entry Rescue Team and Hazardous Material Response Team.

* Investigates, reports, and follows-up on all work related injuries and accidents
* Initiates all needed recordkeeping on accidents and near misses, relays information to corporate, and maintains files on each case
* Ensures Districts are in compliance with safety and technical training requirements
* Ensures Districts are maintaining an adequate supply of approved safety PPE, such as ear plugs, glasses, gloves, harnesses, etc.
* Reviews and assists Districts with maintaining all required OHSA logs and summaries for injuries
* Conducts Smith System driver training as needed and maintains all associated records
* Works with Managers and Supervisors to ensure Field Evaluations and Job Safety Analysis Audits are performed properly and maintains associated files
* Conducts random vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are in acceptable operating condition and contain the required safety equipment
* Conducts and/or assists, as needed, with monthly safety meetings for the Districts
* Ensures that all vehicle and PPE Inspections are completed
* Ensures Districts are maintaining the most current safety, training, and QA manuals as well as training aides
* Assists Districts with completing customer issued PQF forms
* Performs scheduled audits and provides comprehensive reports for the Districts to ensure compliance with applicable TISI, OSHA, DOT, RSPA, FMCSA and EPA Safety Policies and Standards.
Job Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Associates degree in a Health safety or environmental related discipline
* Two (2) to four (4) years prior experience in safety role in an industrial setting
* Holds OSHA certifications in at least 30 hour courses or other equivalent certifications
Work Conditions
* Position is based out of a District location
* Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere
* Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel
* Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels
