As a Security Guard in our Retail Sportsbook, you will create a secure and welcoming environment for both customers and team members. You'll monitor access points, review IDs for age verification, and operate metal detectors to ensure safety protocols are followed. In this role, you'll respond to guest concerns, document incidents, and handle disputes or medical situations when needed. Your efforts will help safeguard company assets, assist with transfers, and ensure a smooth and secure experience for everyone in the venue.
What You'll Do
Review patron's IDs for authenticity and age verification upon arrival.
Operate metal detectors and vet guests as they pass through the devices.
Direct visitors and vendors to appropriate locations and escort the transfer of monies from one area to another.
Observe and report procedural violations, rule infractions, and illegal activity; notify management when necessary.
Document property damage, theft, fraud, burglaries, unusual occurrences, lost and found, and patron or employee injury.
Respond to patron disputes, aggressive behavior incidents, intoxicated patrons, medical incidents, and accidents, fire alarms, and other life safety matters. May be required to render medical first aid.

The Highlights
Public Safety Officers detect and prevent crime and enforce all laws and University rules and regulations, preserving the peace, protecting life and property within their span of control.
Monitors the safety of students, faculty and staff. This is done at either the Lincoln Park or Loop campus through patrol activity on campus and within university buildings, monitoring visitor access to university buildings, conducting foot patrols, locking down classrooms and responding to service calls and alarms and reports of suspicious activity. Assists Chicago Police and Fire departments with special detail, as needed, for campus activities and events.
What You'll Do:
1) Performs Patrol Activity and Incident response.
Makes frequent patrols, by foot and vehicle (LPC), of designated campus areas to watch for unusual or suspicious activities and hazardous situations, reporting issues to dispatcher and/or supervisor. Takes positive action on complaints/calls for assistance received from faculty, staff, students, visitors and others, providing excellent customer service. (LPC) Responds to a variety of incidents including, but not limited to, burglaries, thefts, assaults, sexual assaults, robberies, accidents, medical emergencies, fire alarms, etc. Detains offenders until Chicago Police is on scene. May be required to testify in court. If incidents occur, writes incident accident/illness reports and determines transport needs of patient for treatment. Notifies the Chicago Fire Dept for assistance if condition is serious or life-threatening and assists the Chicago Police Department and Chicago Fire Department on all incidents on campus.
2) Monitors lobby entrance (Loop) and controls access to unauthorized areas (both LPC and Loop). Observes/screens all visitors/persons entering the premises, monitoring for abnormal activity and questioning suspicious persons. Checks, locks and opens University buildings, classrooms and offices. Checks office areas for suspicious activities.
3) Special Detail/Event Duty.
Provides a variety of services to outside groups who rent space at various times throughout the year (Loop). Assists external law enforcement agencies during dignitary visits; monitors student events that serve alcohol. Handles a variety of issues related to events on campus including, athletic events, festivals, concerts, theatre performance, and move-in weekends (LPC).
4) Provide Escort Services. (LPC)
Provides hospital transports for sick and injured individuals or as requested by University Counseling Services. Provides a daily escort service between the hours of 6 pm and 6 am for the safety of faculty, staff, students and guests on campus.
5) Property Management. (Loop)
Responds to inquiries and enforces university policies on property removal. Assists with routing of deliveries at loading dock.
6) Test and Monitor Equipment and Emergency Radio transmissions.
Tests emergency notification system on a weekly basis. Performs bi-monthly tests of campus emergency call boxes (LPC), and duress alarms.

High School diploma, or equivalent required.
Minimum of 1 year of security-related experience or an Associate's (2 years) degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
Must have a valid driver's license and meet the eligibility requirements per the University Vehicle, Driver and Travel Safety Policy.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will be the following in relation to both Corporate (workplace and operations) and Events (productions etc.) :
* Lead and continuously improve Safety & Security programs across Fever's U.S. business, ensuring alignment with global standards and full regulatory compliance.
* Oversee the national approach for safety and security in support of BAU operations, with direct, on-the-ground support to major and strategic local productions.
* Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and training to foster a strong safety culture and ensure employee and patron well-being.
* Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records for audits and reporting.
* Provide emergency response coordination for incidents affecting Fever workspaces and events.
* Coordinate and work with internal stakeholders (Fever's Global Safety and Security Team, event producers, project managers), external stakeholders (vendors, venues) and incident responders (local authorities and law enforcement) in accordance with incident and crises protocols and plans. .
* Deliver training, raise awareness, ensuring clear escalation prior to and during crises and other incidents.
* Ensure compliance with relevant local regulations including OSHA, ADA, and state/local requirements, applying best practices for safe, accessible workspaces and events.
* Conduct incident investigations and ensure corrective actions and lessons learned are implemented.
* Deliver on-site support, safety briefings, and crisis communication, including during irregular hours or travel across event locations.
In order to be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Minimum 4-6 years of experience in health & safety, security, or crisis management, with proven ability to operate across both Safety and Security domains.
* Solid understanding of workplace safety regulations, compliance standards, and risk assessment frameworks; familiarity with crisis management methodologies.
* Ability to work independently, demonstrating strong organizational skills, proactivity, and initiative.
* Strong ability to work across functions, balance priorities, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders in a matrix reporting environment.
* Comfortable being on-site during irregular hours and traveling to event locations in the region.

Campus Safety & Monitoring:
Monitor the Mooseheart campus to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Conduct residence home and bed checks to confirm proper youth locations.
Provide security and traffic control for on-campus events.
Assist staff and residents as needed.
Incident Response:
Respond promptly to emergency situations according to departmental procedures.
Investigate building alarms, determine the cause, and ensure facilities are secure.
Report suspicious persons, vehicles, or incidents on campus.
Documentation & Communication:
Document all incidents accurately and thoroughly.
Report deviations in youth count to the appropriate Family Teacher.
Maintain confidentiality and share information only on a need-to-know basis.
Equipment & Vehicle Care:
Maintain assigned security vehicles in clean, safe operating condition and report any issues to the Chief of Security.
Other Responsibilities:
Complete and maintain all required certifications (CPR, First Aid, Fire Extinguisher).
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Security or Executive Director of Operations.
What You Bring
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 21 years of age.
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with residents, staff, and visitors.
Keen observational skills and ability to notice unusual or suspicious activity.
Ability to act with professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.
Reliable work history and strong teamwork mindset.
Valid Illinois driver's license with a clean driving record (no suspensions within the past 3 years).

ASSIGNMENT: 10 Month
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This work involves supervising the behavior of students outside the classroom, assisting the teachers with immediate disciplinary problems in the classroom, promoting the well-being and safety of students, and providing assistance and direction to campus visitors. There is considerable contact with students, staff, parents and the general public. Must be tactful, use fairness and independent judgment when dealing with a variety of problems and emergency situations experienced by students and visitors. The employee must also exercise initiative in keeping informed of procedures and policies.
An employee in this position works within clearly established systems and procedures, must exhibit organizational skills and exercise independent judgment and confidentiality in the performance of duties. The Campus Safety must exhibit initiative and embrace a collaborative team approach to accomplish the mission of the district.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Must have physical ability to lift/move supplies, materials, and office equipment up to 40 lbs.
* Must sit at workstation for extended periods of time and/or move frequently from workstation to various other areas of building.
* Must organize and prioritize workflow.
* Must be proficient in the use of computers, office practices, procedures and office equipment.
* Must project a positive image of the district to students, staff and the general public as well as exhibit a positive employee attitude.
* Must demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills, and communicate clearly and respectfully with students, staff, parents, visitors and the general public.
* Must have awareness of a variety of student needs, including physical and social emotional needs.
* Must hold a valid driver's license.
* Must complete district approved Crisis Prevention Institute training (CPI).
* Must have physical ability to move about frequently and quickly throughout the school campus.
* Must have possession of a valid Red Cross First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/AED Certification or equivalent.
POSITION EXPECTATIONS:
1. Assisting in the efficient and effective functioning of the school including, but not limited to:
a. supporting school safety and district crisis plans.
b. responding to emergency or crisis situations for the purpose of addressing immediate safety concerns.
c. promoting a safe school environment by observing and reporting behavior of students, parents and visitors on school property.
d. promoting a clean school environment and ensures that school policies and procedures are followed school wide by supervising student's behavior outside of the classrooms.
e. assisting visitors by helping them obtain a visitor's pass and directing them to the appropriate location.
f. supporting and supervising students in non-academic settings.
g. assisting students who appear ill, distraught, or otherwise needy, by contacting parents or appropriate school personnel and referring to the appropriate services.
h. promoting a clean school environment and correcting student misperceptions of others by modeling appropriate behavior and/or talking to the students.
i. assisting the DHSSSW and School Resource Officer in escorting students to and from various locations.
2. Particpating in appropriate professional development activities in order to enhance job performance.
3. Cultivating and developing inclusive and equitable working relationships with staff, students and community members.
