Job Description What You'll Do: * Perform security duties related to access control of controlled area, entrance gate duties, protected and vital area access control, personnel search, vehicle search, escort duties, compensatory measures, monitor watch, operability testing of security equipment, and other related security duties, in accordance with applicable procedures. * Maintain operability of security and contingency equipment. * Maintain operability and working knowledge of weapons and other related equipment. * Investigate and report actual or suspected violations of plant security procedures and rules or abnormal conditions and irregularities. Respond to alarms and assess response team situations and take compensatory measures when applicable. * Maintain required logs and documentation. * Assist in the testing of security barriers and systems to ensure operability to meet plant and NRC requirements of security related equipment. Work Experience: * At least 1 year experience in military, law enforcement or security * OR 2 years of nuclear industry experience where work is performed within the Protected Area. Other Requirements: * Must meet 21 years of age minimum requirement in accordance with State Security Guard Licensing for Armed Officers and 10CFR73, App B requirements. * Must meet all assigned requirements of the Cook Nuclear Plant's Physical Security Plan, Training and Qualification Plan, approved site procedures and/or State requirements. * Must pass medical and psychological exam, and pass a physical agility test. * Work safely in a nuclear, industrial and radiological environment. * Must meet the general criteria for security personnel as outlined in 10CFR, Part 73, Appendix B as specified in the Cook Nuclear Plant Security Plan and Training and Qualification Plan. * Report to work for various shifts, days of the week, weekends, holidays, various hours and be available on short notice. Reports to the Director. Responsible for providing a safe, secure and effective environment of care. Generally assigned to the Emergency Trauma Center (ETC), this environment is sustained by monitoring Hospital facilities, properties, and functions in order to protect property, patients, visitors, and employees from hazardous conditions, physical harm, trespassing, vandalism, sabotage, fire, and/or theft. Directs visitors, patients, and employees to appropriate location(s), and intervenes to prevent and control patient, visitor, and/or employee disturbances. Supports Department functions by: * Providing escort services for employees, visitors, and patients throughout the Hospital campus. * Enforcing parking rules and regulations in Hospital lots, mainly the ETC parking areas. * Conducting screening of individuals entering the ETC, limiting access to the facility as appropriate, and providing assistance as requested. * Conducting preliminary investigations on incidents occurring in the ETC and at the Hospital and submitting appropriate reports. Documenting all routine functions and duties on a daily activity report. Reporting accidents, hazards, and other incidents as appropriate. * Testifying during hearings and other legal proceedings, presenting information and accounts on incidents which have occurred on the Hospital's property, as required. Two to three years of industrial or health care security experience with evidence of training in laws of arrest, detention, and rules of evidence. CITY OF ELKHART - DEPARTMENT Parks and Recreation NIBCO Skate Guard/Attendants DIVISION NIBCO Ice and Water Facility STATUS Part-time CATEGORY Hourly, $13-$16 FLSA Non-Exempt REPORTS TO NIBCO Ice and Water Park Manager DATE 2025 JOB SUMMARY NIBCO Ice Park Skate Guards/Attendants are responsible for the safety of NIBCO patrons by preventing accidents and responding quickly to emergencies; must know and be able to perform ice skating skills; must follow and enforce NIBCO policies and rules at all times; perform routine maintenance to the facility, i.e., sweep, pick up trash, clean restrooms, etc.; must be able to verbally communicate effectively with both public and staff. Participate in in-service trainings. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Monitor and enforce safety regulations on the ice rink. Ensure visitors are following proper safety guidelines, such as wearing appropriate gear and adhering to skating rules. Help with the skate rental process and keep an inventory of rental equipment and concessions supplies. Regularly inspect and maintain ice skate rental equipment. Help with transactions for the admissions, concessions, and skate rental counters. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with the planning and execution of ice park events and programs. Communicate with the NIBCO Manager about facility issues and concerns. Help maintain food and drink inventory at the concessions stand. Assist with facility cleaning on a regular basis.
