About the Role
The day-to-day tasks of the Shipping and Receiving Clerk will be to support clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods and receiving incoming shipments. In handling unusual non-routine problems, this worker receives specific guidance from supervisor or other officials. This incumbent may direct and coordinate the activities of other workers engaged in handling material to be shipped or being received.
Key Responsibilities
Verifying that orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against documents
Insuring that shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles
Preparing and keeping records of shipped items, e.g., manifests, bills of lading
Receiving duties involve verifying the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records, checking for damaged goods, insuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing and preparing and keeping records or materials received
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
1+ years of experience in a shipping and receiving role
Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 pounds
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Forklift certification a plus
Experience with inventory management software
Knowledge of shipping regulations and requirements
Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
Additional Requirements
Must possess an active SECRET security clearance

Position Summary
The Warehouse Associate will be responsible for using safe lifting techniques, efficiently sorting, handling, loading, and unloading freight from over-the-road equipment, containers, city trailers, and/or straight trucks. The Warehouse Associate uses hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts in the loading and unloading of freight and other job duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Operates all material handling equipment in a safe manner
Working with different departments to meet demands of the business
Communicating any issues to the supervisor that can arise from loading and unloading
Keeping up to date with new systems and technology
Participate in daily inventory processes, auditing and researching discrepancies
Demonstrate reliability and commitment to punctuality
Performs all job tasks as assigned (may vary depending on client requirements)
