Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred. National certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID): NIC, CI, CT, or BEI certification (as applicable). At least 2 years of verifiable experience providing onsite ASL interpretation. Ability to travel or relocate temporarily for assignments, when needed. Must pass background check(s), drug screening, and security clearances where required (e.g., for federal or educational institutions). Familiarity with ADA, HIPAA, FERPA, and other applicable privacy and access regulations. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Experience Experience working in healthcare, court/legal, federal government, and K-12 or higher education environments. State-level interpreter licenses where applicable (e.g., Texas, Michigan, California). Multilingual or specialized training (e.g., medical, legal certification). Comfortable with last-minute assignments and travel coordination. Work Conditions Varies by assignment and client: may involve standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods.     is contingent upon contract award**** Amentum is seeking a cleared **Pashtu / Dari / Farsi** **Linguist (CAT III)** to provide foreign language interpretation, transcription, reporting, and translation services to support worldwide operations. This position will provide onsite support in Fayetteville, NC. **Essential Duties:** + Must be ready, willing and able to change day-to-day work/tasks as the mission requirements at the assigned location may be fluid with lots of movement and change. + Ability to think quickly and deal with issues that may arise professionally, timely, and appropriately. + Typing ability, basic computer skills, use of Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel. + Advanced technical/computer capability in utilizing Unit specific special software programs and systems. + Ability to function effectively and efficiently during extended periods of high pressure and stress. + Read, write, listen, and speak with clear, concise grammar, and pronunciation in the required foreign language(s) and English. + Provide idiomatic translations of technical material using correct syntax and expression from English to the required language, and vice-versa. Linguists shall have the ability to write operational reports and other specialized documents in conjunction with an operational element. + Provide language or dialect specific translations using correct structure of sentences in the required language and English. + Conduct consecutive, accurate translations, and interpretations of on-going conversations and activities. + Ability to work cross cultural, religious, and ethnic divides. + Linguists must be able to frequently travel worldwide with minimal oversight and guidance for short-term deployments OCONUS to include extreme, austere, harsh conditions that may be possible war zones. + May be required to go on missions and be physically fit to perform these duties. Lift and carry at least 30 pound backpack and/or gear with minimal effort. Walk at least 5km in rough terrain. **Minimum Requirements** : + Must possess a active U.S government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI) + Must be a high school graduate, have a GED, or equivalent at a minimum, with some college level work preferred. In lieu of education, experience may be substituted. + Must have scored a minimum of 3 on the ILR scale in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking in English and the target foreign language(s) preferably within the last 24 months. + A minimum of two years of experience is required.
