Specifically, this candidate would help with in-house translations, facilitate communication among staff and customers, bridge the gap in customer communications (secure meetings), and work on a part-time, as needed basis. Though rare, there may be occasional travel for conferences and customer site meetings.

Translation:
Can accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard -copy formats that contain facts and some abstract language showing an ability to capture intended implications and many nuances.
Can generally capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in a text. Word choice and expression generally adhere to target language (TL) norms and means of expression specific to the subject field(s) and are strong enough to allow the translator to operate successively in that field.
Interpretation:
Able to interpret accurately. Typically, consecutive interpretation is needed, but simultaneous interpretation may be requested on rare occasions.
Has a good understanding of one or more regional dialects.
Transcription:
Review audio or internet material and transcribe with a high degree of accuracy and expression.
Must possess excellent English -language written communication skills for preparing reports.

What Sets You Apart:
TS/SCI with polygraph is required.
BA/BS and/or equivalent formal military training and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Attending and passing all sponsor -related training is a requirement of employment.
Successfully complete sponsor -required training, travel, and medical requirements if applicable.

Essential Duties:
* Create a positive learning environment for guests of all ages and backgrounds by being hospitable, approachable, and engaging. Encourage participation in impromptu and planned interactions.
* Research, develop, train, coach, and deliver programming on Religion, Religious Freedom, George Washington's religious practices and beliefs, and his role in establishing the precedent for religious freedom in the American Constitution.
* Provide guests with accurate, interesting, and pertinent historical information about George Washington and Mount Vernon. Follow departmental interpretive strategies to effectively integrate interpretation into the overall guest learning experience.
* Accurately portray predetermined historical persons in order to provide an immersive, thoughtful, and entertaining experience. Maintain an appearance that is appropriate for the person being portrayed and closely adhere to 18th-century standards of etiquette/deportment. Remain in character where practical. Special circumstances, such as educational purposes, crowd control, or other reasons, may require breaking character.
* Thoroughly research the designated historical identity and all relevant persons in order to establish a comprehensive understanding of the character's life and times. Identify and prepare for frequently asked guest questions. Assist the Manager of Character Interpretation with developing new characters, programs, and other special projects as needed.
* Write, practice, and perform dramatic presentations as requested for special public programs, private events, and outreach initiatives, which may be on or off-site.
Qualifications:
* Previous interpretive experience with a proven talent for performing formally and informally in a variety of settings and conditions is a prerequisite.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Must work well with a diverse audience and have a sincere interest in history.
