Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpretation, Deaf Studies, Education, or related field.
Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID certification) or eligibility for certification.
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other sign language systems.
Previous experience working as a sign language interpreter in educational settings, preferably with deaf or hard of hearing students.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey spoken and signed messages in a variety of contexts.
Knowledge of deaf culture, communication strategies, and accommodations for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in challenging or sensitive situations.
