Laurie is the President and CEO of Sound Community Bank - formerly Credit Union of the Pacific - headquartered in Seattle. Sound Community Bank (SCB) is a savings bank that converted from a credit union in 2003. With total assets in excess of $306 million, Sound Community Bank serves the Puget Sound region through five branch offices. In addition to traditional community bank services, SCB is a real estate specialist with a loan servicing portfolio in excess of $140 million. SCB was recognized by Washington CEO as one of the top fifty places to work in 2005, 2006 and again in 2007.

Laurie has also served as the Vice Chair of the Board of the Co- Op Network and as a Board member for Service Centers Corporation, the wholly owned Shared Branch subsidiary of the Co-Op and is a former Board member of PSCU Financial Services, Inc. Currently she is a Board member for the Community Foundation for the Sequim/Dungeness Valley and active with the American Banking Association. She is a board member for the Washington Banker’s Association and Chair of the Education Committee. Laurie previously served as the Chair of the Board of CU Financial Services, the advisory Board for the Division of Financial Institutions in the State of Washington, the Governmental Affairs Committee of the Washington League and the Board of Friends of the Fields and the Board of Girl Scouts. She is active at The Woodland Park Zoo as a member of the Executive Committee for Jungle Party, a Trustee for the Fred Hutch Holiday Gala and a volunteer designer for The Festival of Trees and O’ Christmas Trees and a CASA volunteer. She also serves on her Condominium Board and volunteers with Joints in Motion. With two half marathon’s and one full marathon behind her, she is helping coach a group for the Seattle Rock and Roll Marathon in June 2009.

Laurie is a frequent speaker at conferences and colleges and has testified in both Washington DC and the state legislature on financial services issues.
