Beginning in 1965, the College began a cycle of growth during which over three-fourths of the present campus buildings were erected or renovated, the curriculum was broadened and strengthened, student enrollment doubled and new expertise was added through faculty growth and development.
In fall 1990 the College launched a new University Transfer Program through the establishment of associate degree programs in arts and sciences.
In fall 1997, the College opened a new satellite location located off Highway 290 at Commerce Park in western Spartanburg County.
The Health Sciences Building was completed and open for classes summer 2001.
Dedication Ceremony and Open House are held October 30, 2003
Located at the Cherokee County Campus the facility opens July 2006.
20,000 square-foot academic building opened in Fall 2007
The Union County Advanced Technology Center has Grand Opening February 26, 2010.
SCC reached an important milestone Fall semester 2011 with a record enrollment of over 6000 students.
SCC named Doctor Michael Mikota to the position of president, effective July 13, 2020.
