ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Assists students in the completion of classroom activities assigned by the Intervention Specialist. * Assists the Intervention Specialist in routine classroom and school ativities, implementation of IEP servivces, behavior plans, student assessment, playground and lunch duty. * Assists in the preparation of classroom materials, displays, and individual student accommodations and modifications. * Assists special education students in regular education classes, including attending class with student and providing student supports as needed and or indicated on IEP. * Assists Intervention Specialist in maintain a good learning environment, including classroom management. * Assists students with personal health care needs such as toileting, personal hygiene and use of adaptive equipment. * Participates in professional growth activities. * Ensures the safety of students. * Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relationships. * Remains free of any alcohol or nonprescription controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout employment in the district. * Exhibits professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment. * Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, and intelligent human beings. * Understands the legal responsibility to help instill in students the belief in, and practice of, ethical principles and democratic values. * Maintains confidentiality and respect for confidential information at all times. * Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
