SSOE is seeking a Structural Engineering Co-op for Summer 2026. This is an onsite position in our Troy, MI office. The role requires daily in-person attendance at one of these locations, and remote or hybrid work is not available. Responsibilities The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing. Each person is expected to help out in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality product on schedule and within budget in a team environment. Performs assigned tasks under close supervision of Department Manager or designee. Receives specific and detailed instruction. Basic computer, Revit or AutoCAD skills a plus. Learns and uses department standards, methods, and procedures respective to field of study. Meets various deadlines on daily duties or special projects as assigned by DM or designee. Occasional local travel may required for client visits. Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments. Qualifications Students must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program, majoring in Civil Engineering with interest in the Structural Engineering track or completed structural engineering coursework. Rising Junior or Senior academic year preferred. Must be registered with the Office of Professional Experience Program or equivalent Co-op office. Demonstrated organizational skills. Salary range: $20-$23 per hour depending on year in school.

Job Description The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Civil Engineering Intern for employment during Spring/Summer 2026 in the Novi, MI office. This position provides the opportunity to work on large, unique, and complex transportation projects throughout Michigan. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: * Work with field inspection teams for oversight of transportation construction projects. * Monitor and record the work and progress of contractors while tracking material quality and usage. * Ensure that traffic control measures are implemented and maintained during construction. * Performing field reviews and taking field measurements. * Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities. * Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. * Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids. * Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member. * Meets required schedules while producing quality work. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: * Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Construction Management and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship. * Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required. * Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. * As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
