Poor salary and benefits. Management skills varied widely from very professional and experienced, to incompetent.
Interaction with students and their parents. I enjoyed coaching soccer, too.
Besides changing their goals and direction yearly, they usually would stay out of most of our way.
Learned who the head of the company was, what activities/charities they supported, and what departments he favored within. Learned who his second in command's were, their alma maters and majors, outside activities/charities, how many times married and number of children. Of course knowing what industry they were in and who the major competitors were is important. The usual stuff to stay in the interview process.
Below average for teachers, above average for administrators.
Good. It’s all over the place.
The challenge of working with such a disadvantaged population can be daunting and at the same time rewarding and life changing.
