Regulatory Requirements Must be Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the AAMA or State of Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required. Associates Degree in Medical Assisting or NCLEX for LPN is required. A minimum of 5 years in a medical practice or outpatient setting is required. Language Skills Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills. Skills Previous experience with an EMR system is preferred.
