POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY The Superintendent is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by overseeing and managing all on-site activities during construction project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications by coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress, maintaining safety standards, and resolving any issues that arise on the job site; essentially acting as the primary point of contact on the construction site to ensure smooth operation and project success. LOCATION This position is based in Lake Charles, LA. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Schedules work to be performed, and reviews work accomplished by each craft. Coordinate with Field Supervision and Subcontractors to plan / support construction schedules. Responsible for quantity take-off (in conjunction with Field Engineering), quantity control, tracking, reporting, and forecasting for civil discipline. Prepare cost estimates for civil construction activities and support preparation of cost reports, forecast and progress reports. Oversees tool and equipment usage on the project site. Manages the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools, consumables, equipment, and servicing of equipment ensuring that the craft professionals have the tools they require to be productive. Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents Coordinate subcontract activities to ensure civil materials, equipment and quality comply with design plans and specifications. Hire, motivate, and lead a high-performing team through coaching, top-tier talent retention, and directed recruiting efforts. Supervises team, including training, providing work direction, problem-solving assistance, reviewing performance, recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations. Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Project Overview: Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths. Job Summary: In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals within Plant 3. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets. #LI-TH1 Major Responsibilities: * Establishes, coordinates and implements area construction schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements. * Controls expenditures in assigned area for labor, equipment, material and services and ensures field operations are within budget. * Responsible for overall supervision of personnel in assigned area of responsibility. * Overall coordination of all activities inside the PLant 3 area as well as coordinating a group of superintendents, field engineers and others for daily goals and activities. * Monitoring progress and timely installation of the modules, interconnecting components and stick-built commodities within assigned area * Provide leadership for the safety, accident prevention, and fire prevention programs on the project. * Daily coordination with assigned Superintendents and interface managers * Monitor and take an active role in the 28 days /120-days IAP schedule * Performing work in a brownfield area, liaison with operations to perform this work * Communicating with operations on interface work activities * Responsible for conducting area wide schedule, interface and performance meetings with all associated disciplines superintendents to establish and maintain a coordinated plan and efficient performance of the work in the area * Sets area priorities and resolves conflicts between disciplines * Resolves problems and coordinates with engineering, procurement and others to ensure appropriate solutions are determined and implemented in a timely manner. * Monitoring the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules. * Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations. * Coordinating activities with other disciplines or areas and clients' resident representatives, as instructed by construction management * Performing employee reviews and identifies training and development opportunities for subordinate personnel. * Ensuring that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility. * Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operation. Actively participates in scheduled safety meetings. * Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment * Ensures the most current design documents are used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation. * Ensures that all milestone dates are completed as scheduled. * Ensures that all construction activities meet quality and workmanship standards. * Ensures required permits are in place prior to the start of the work at site. * Monitor quantity reporting. Education and Experience Requirements: * Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: * Strong supervision experience including the ability to lead and manage change is desirable. * Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner. * Must have previous direct hire experience. * Strong technical knowledge of LNG facility installations. * Strong experience of liaising with and coordinating contractors and vendors. * Strong technical knowledge of heavy industrial civil /piping/mechanical/electrical facility installations. * Knowledge of multi-discipline construction or engineering operation. * Knowledge of the project's ES&H handbook, the supervisor's ES&H manual, the project safety management plan and Bechtel's core processes. * Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies. Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces.
