Contractor shall provide expertise in identifying, preserving, collecting, processing, and producing ESI in support of civil and criminal litigation, select FOIA requests, Congressional requests and other inquiries;

Contractor shall work with the litigation team to develop a discovery plan which documents the electronic discovery search parameters (e.g., date range, key words, and custodians) for a particular case;
Contractor shall use electronic discovery software applications to collect data from various FBI storage locations on FBI IT systems (e.g., MS‑Exchange servers, shared drives, desktops, text and instant messages) in accordance with the discovery plan, to support OGC attorneys, paralegal specialists, Information Management Division personnel and case agents who are responsible for responding to pre‑trial discovery motions, requests, subpoenas related to civil and criminal matters, congressional inquiries, FOIA requests and other inquiries;
Contractor shall analyze search/collection results for data gaps;
Contractor shall administer data inputs into an electronic discovery review platform (e.g. eDP), which includes, but is not limited to: creating cases; adding collected source data;
Contractor shall handle user access rights; upload data logs; de‑duplicate collected source data; identify data gaps; merge/verify data; and assure electronic discovery production quality in Bates numbering and load file creation;
Contractor shall coordinate electronic discovery collection results with FBI units responsible for processing discovery for review/redaction/release;
Contractor shall adhere to policies and technical procedures for use of available electronic discovery software applications and provide agency attorneys, paralegals, and other users of the FBI's electronic discovery review platform with training and other technicalassistance;

Qualifications

3 (three) years of progressively responsible experience on major lit support projects.
2 years in Relativity, beyond document review coding.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with both eDiscovery technical teams and non‑technical business leaders and team players.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and agile work environment.
Experience and familiarity with eDiscovery Services covering all realms of the EDRM (File to Trial).

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Associate Director for Industry and Technology Transactions is a leadership position within Stanford's Office of Technology Licensing, responsible for driving complex agreements that advance Stanford's mission of research excellence, innovation, and strategic collaboration. The position leads a team of contracting professionals and serves as the primary point of contact for strategic negotiations with industry leaders, strategic partners, and non‑profit organizations.
This role oversees the full lifecycle of complex transactions-from drafting through negotiation and execution-to ensure alignment with Stanford's policies, compliance requirements, and strategic objectives. The portfolio includes technology licensing agreements, research collaborations, strategic industry alliances, and mission‑aligned transactions with non‑profit organizations. The Senior Associate Director establishes clear risk frameworks and deal strategies that protect the University's interests while enabling sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships.
A key expectation is the ability to act as a strategic advisor who can translate complex legal concepts into practical, actionable business recommendations. The role partners closely with faculty, researchers, and internal contracting and licensing staff, as well as other Stanford offices to structure agreements that foster innovation, safeguard intellectual property and academic values, and support successful long‑term relationships with external partners.
This position requires excellent judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to balance risk with opportunity. CORE DUTIES
Direct staff and provide leadership to Industrial Contracts officers. Promote the goals and vision of ICO. Responsible for hiring, training and retaining staff, career coaching, professional development and accountable for the performance of direct reports.
Develop strategic plans for ICO. Identify and resolve strategic issues of substantial significance that affect the overall functioning beyond ICO, consult and advise senior University leadership. Advise senior management on programmatic and policy development.
Evaluate the effectiveness of ICO's organizational structure and programs to promote success, development of employees and appropriate use of staff resources.
Negotiate, sign and administer major research agreements with companies, such as master sponsored research agreements, unfunded collaboration agreements, material transfer agreements, equipment loan agreements, and other related agreements. Supervise ICO staff on other agreements.
Provide guidance to faculty, senior management, research staff, and other Stanford offices on Stanford policies on intellectual property, contracts, and other related issues. + Acts as a force multiplier: mentors senior/staff, raises the hiring bar, and leads critical postmortems.
**Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):**
+ PhD in a relevant field or related discipline (STEM focused), or equivalent research experience with a proven track record of publications in reputed journals and conferences.
+ 15+ years' experience in research and design Computer Vision / VLM / LLM solutions with significant focus on Machine Vision, with at least 10 of those years in a hands-on technical or scientific leadership position
+ Experience in designing and implementing large scale AI solutions
+ Experience in leading large-scale AI/ML development projects from concept to multiple releases in production
+ Strong hands on experience with at least one of the popular machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras, etc.), and familiarity with programming languages (C++, Python,Java, etc.)
+ Familiarity with multiple open-source machine/computer vision libraries (OpenCV, PIL, etc.)
+ Familiarity with OpenGL and OpenCL
+ In-depth experience with Ops, MLOps, and/or VLM/LLMOps
+ Familiarity in cloud-based development and integration (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
+ Experience leading high-impact, cross-company initiatives
+ Established track record of excellence in relevant research areas
+ Excellent communication skills in presentation (both verbal and slides)
+ Very strong drive for continuous delivery of new and improved capabilities to production
**Compensation:**
The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
+ The salary range for this role is $234,000 - $358,500. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
